This has been said before and is actually on the sticky on the top of the page, that if you are running Nvidia that you shouldn't run the game in 3d mode.
While this is the problem, it is actually the 3d portion of the drivers that is causing the problem, I had to got to my add/remove programs and actually uninstall the 3d drivers. This has made my game so much more playable while still using the new drivers.

Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow Nvidia will have some new working drivers. Goodnight

yep, this is what fixed my issue. just remove them entirely.

that could be it, cause i'm not having any problems and i'm with the newest drivers. I never installed the 3d drivers though

Fixed my problem, more than doubled my fps when i uninstalled the 3dvision drivers

And that's a good thing, 3D can be harmful to your vision. Seriously.
