Any chance you could also put up the Polish language version of the game? Witcher Enhanced Edition had all languages so I was hoping Witcher 2 would be the same.

There's probably a limited number of Polish speakers who live abroad (USA here) and also are hardcore RPG fans but we (maybe just me) would really appreciate access to the original version of the game or a language & subs pack.

The availability of the Polish version was discussed both here:

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/original_language_version

and here:

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/the_witcher_2_polish_language_protest

But with no conclusions, just speculations. From what we see now, the GOG version doesn't include the Polish voiceover. But since a future patch like W1EE is not totally unthinkable I took the liberty to ask this question today on the official W2 forums:

http://tw2.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=30740.0

No answers yet. If the silence lasts longer, I'll try emailing CD-Projekt. If you're registered on the W2 forum feel free to bump my topic, the more attention this matter gets, the greater the chance of any official answer.

Wow, I thought I was the only one! I only heard about Witcher 2 on GOG through a post on reddit today. I'm not really active on the forums here.

I'll definitely be buying the game through GOG but I'd rather get the Polish version through here too than via torrents like I maybe possibly had to with Witcher 1 before the Enhanced Edition came out in stores.

And here's hoping you won't have to! CDP's policy is not to treat customers like criminals, and not to force them to bend the rules, and they try to be there for them and actively support unlike any other company I've seen.

The release is still 6 months away, so nothing is yet set in stone. Let's just wait and hope for a positive reply :-)

Yeah on my last play through (like my fifth one) of TW1, I played Polish voice over and English subs. Really cool. I hope I could understand Polish so I could absorb the Witcher Saga properly (games+books).
I would happily play TW2 with Polish voice over and English subs. Hope it is possible. Would be surprising not to have a Polish digital version.

I thought the Polish voice actors were a bit better suited to the characters and did a really good job. I sort of understand now why Anime nerds insist on watching the Japanese versions of movies/shows with English subtitles.

I'm also one of those who enjoyed Polish voices + English subs. That really was a big + for me. I really hope CDproject will manage to include all these options. Another way to respect their customers.

There's not really anything nerdy about it. It's just a matter of not wanting to ditch the original high-quality acting in favour of a lesser quality localisation.
Some time ago I have emailed to GOG Support (tw2preorder@gog.com) regarding this issue with absence of Polish voiceover..
Here is the answer:
"I'm afraid that I cannot comment on that. The Polish version may find its way onto our site, but I can't guarantee it at this time. Please stay tuned for any upcoming announcements - if we can release additional language versions, you can be sure we'll want to tell everyone about it.

Alright, so I'm just gonna go ahead and pre-order Witcher 2 on GOG and assume they'll give everyone who bought the game access to any new languages when they can.
While it is still unclear whether or not English subs will be available on the Polish retail copy, the Polish store EMPiK which does handle international shipping, does have the Premium edition available for pre-order here:

Still waiting for CDP to reply, if some of you bump the abovementioned topic, maybe it'll get noticed. If not, I'm sending them tons of e-mails soon.

Edit: CDP Red has spoken!

Alek_

Hi guys! Probably the voice-overs will be limited to regions (not always equal to one country) so still, there's a possibility for the Polish (and other) VO to be available in other countries. Please note it's not officially communicated yet and still needs a confirmation from our side. I hope every country will get something more than only native language pack.

To all interested, who still don't know: it has been officially confirmed, that after the optional registration the English and Polish language packs will be available free of charge! More info arround the 13 minute mark here: http://tw2.thewitcher.com/#video/0_1

I am interested and I did not know!

I don't see the video you're referencing but I'll take your word for it. So, I can buy the game on GOG and register it on the Witcher 2 site and download from there?

Yes if they fix the GoGdamn registration process on time. Worst case scenario you'll be stuck with the English version for a while, but they've promised to upload those as well as the first patch and free DLC.

I still have to finish the last bit in Witcher 1 and I'm reading through the Witcher Saga right now so a slight delay won't bother me : )
