After starting a new game and playing for a couple of hours, I am glad to say that at least parrying humans, elves and dwarves still prevents all weapon damage. That part about Parry only preventing 50% damage seems to only apply to monsters. When I read item #2 on that list I was worried that Geralt wasn't even going to be able to block a sword without getting hurt. I am alot less aggravated at this patch than I was yesterday.

Apparently Geralt can't block 100% damage from anything. I just found out I was using a sword with a damage reduction on block bonus. And now that I know CDP has decided to break canon and make Geralt less than human, since even the fat, physically deficient slobs that Loredo employs can damage him when he blocks with a sword, despite the fact that witchers spend enormous amounts of time training in sword fighting. I am really pissed about this patch. If Geralt just couldn't block 100% from monsters, that would make sense since most monsters are described as being too much for a witcher in a straightforward fight, not to mention attacks from something like an Endrega seem to be something a sword wouldn't be able to block anyways. But now he can't even beat an out of shape thug who doesn't even have close to the training he is supposed to have, I am just irrate.
1 step forward (supposed fix in responsiveness), 2 steps back (blocking is useless) Geralt is no longer a witcher now in this game. So why bother playing a "Witcher" game that doesn't let you be a witcher.
