Hi all -

I have the gog ediiton of the game. The reason I got that edition is that my gaming computer is not connected to the internet. From what I can read in the patch notes is that it seems like there isn't a manual version for the GOG version..that it is simply an installer that connects to the net.

My question is basically 'is this true', and if so, is there a workaround? I dl'ed Patcher_GOG.exe, but I assume that isn't actually the patch?

I am unable to connect the computer that Witcher 2 is on to the internet, but I can transfer things to it via a USB key. Thanks in advance!

Since I'm connected to the internet, I have no idea if it requires a connection to install, but I can't see why it would.
Ok, going to install it now and see if it works, will report back.
Nope, doesn't work actually, although a different error the one I expected to get. A dialog box with the heading 'Critical Error' pops up. Text reads

"Installed game version is invalid or incomplete."

Help anyone? It can't be a virus or anything. This computer has literally never been connected to the internet.

Any mods installed?
Two Things:

- Make sure your Antivirus/Firewall/Defense+ is disabled.
- Make sure you do not have any DLC installed.

Both of those will cause the update to throw out error messages and fail.
Ah, I have installed some DLC. Great idea, let me remove all of that and see.

Awsomesauce, totally worked. I wish I could remove this post since it wound up being a nonissue.

In reading the patch page, at the bottom it made a big deal out of 'if your net connection dies while its installing, etc, you have to fully reinstall' and it kinda freaked me out for a sec. Turns out everything is A. OK :)
