Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I've downloaded both the GoG and International versions of the patch, get this error message. I redownloaded and reinstalled the entire game (a nice chunk of time), got this error message immediately after the installation was complete. I've removed the DLC stuff from the cookedPC folder in my Witcher directory.

Seriously, how do I get this damn patch to work?!?!?!
Uninstall and reinstall the game, work here.

I've just finished uninstalling and reinstalling (took the entire night and most of this morning), and it still doesn't work.
if you have the gog version of the game you need to delete the GOG folder which is located in programfilesx86 after uninstalling the game.

then you can reintall it

I got that message too. My problem was that I had the Troll Trouble DLC copied from a friends computer in my CookedPC folder. I deleted it and the patch installed fine.

Yup, this is all you should have to do. Take all ".dzip files out of your CookedPC folder (I took out Succubus.dzip or whatever just in case) and rerun the installer.

Make sure the Witcher 2 launcher isnt running as well. Good luck, hopefully you figure it out.

+1 this

The installer will crap if the launcher is still active (and sometimes it seems to stay active for a long time after you close it). It will also crap if you have the Troll.dzip in the CookedPC folder.
I basically uninstalled. deleted every single related folder. even deleted the registry entry for the game.

the reinstallation + patch worked perfectly afterwards.
