Hey folks, I downloaded the patch, unzipped it but when I try and install I get a critical error which simply says,

"Failed applying patch change to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Gog.com\The Witcher 2\Launcher.exe'"

Any help?

Unfortunately the message is vague and tells little. Have you tried uninstalling the game, clearing out (manually deleting) all remaining files and Witcher 2 registry entries and tried reinstalling the game and applying the patch immediately after install? Many have report this works in the majority of patch installs, although this patch is apparently not perfect. I'd call this a beta patch, but most cases haven't had the error you've listed. Also, you may want to disable the UAC (User access control) which is reported to cause problems in general with the Witcher 2 installs.

UAC off, run as admin still get the message.
UAC is disabled, guess I'll have to try reinstalling...
lol, i had the launcher open. Closed the launcher patch went through fine, derp.

If you already reinstalled the patch applies itself, just so you know.

Better to uninstall game all together & reinatall you find that all the patches will load then least that is what I did it runs like a dream now even changed movement buttons to arrows did not get on with WSAD much better for me anyway. Go to witcher 2 official site to download freebies
