Hi everyone,

I picked up the Witcher EE, Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 because the series is that good
and I haven't found another like it at all actually.

Sooooo.........Is it me or is this game difficult on "normal?"

This games difficulty level reminds me of Silent Hill actually ------> Easy and then Steep!

Any advice would help me.

Thank you very much for your time! :)

Some questions first:

How far did you proceed in the game?
Which fights are a problem?

Beside Beast in 1 and Kraken in 2, the rest it is easy if you are a little caution...

I gotta agree with user pigulici above me that these two fights are probably the hardest part in both games, especially if you're still getting used to the controls or your character doesn't have that many skills. Kajran fight in W2 is basically impossible and extremely frustrating if your computer is slow and the reactions get lagged.

As for advice, this worked for me:
Always try to get to know your enemy beforehand if you know what you're against (ie. read books on them available in game + Bestiary).
Get prepared for the fight – use elixirs, oils and basically any help you can get (again, books/Bestiary are your friend as they usually hint at what's good to use OR try to learn from your failed attempts ending in death – what was missing, what could you use etc.).
Try to pick up enemy's strategy – this applies mostly to W3 – as all the opponents have just a few moves that usually follow one after another, so if you notice the pattern, you're halfway to winning the fight.
If you're fighting a group, try not to get cornered and if you can, use anything around to split your opponents and then take them one after another.
It's also good not to turn your back on whatever you fight, because backstabbing is a thing that happens and it's often deadly :)

I hope this helps (and doesn't make the games ridiculously easy in turn) and good luck!
Get the Position and Feet work skills from the swordsmanship tree. They're crucial for survival, regardless of your build.

Other than that, since parry only absorbs 50% damage (which is incredibly dumb by the way) the safest approach to melee combat is more or less: hit, dodge, hit, hit, dodge, dodge until stuff dies. Throw in a Quen if you're willing to spend points on it, otherwise simply try not to get hit.

Edit: talking about Witcher 2 here

Beast is hard to kill but a little work on skills and it's easy after that on normal.Practice makes perfect:-)

Hi and Thank you,

This information is helpful.............I allowed myself to get depressed a bit thinking that THIS would be the entire game's tone.

I'm glad to see that it isn't.

Thanks again
