I looked 20 pages back and found nothing on this. (which can only mean I am the only dummy)
The manual is also vague.

I've got lots of Metorite Ore. Mostly red.
I am at the end (I think) of Chapter One. Defeated Kayran.

I remember from WItcher 1 that I could use it to make swords or upgrade my swords???
In the game, I can find diagrams to make the stuff but so far I am missing how to use it.
I know from the lack of questions it must be obvious so don't flame me. :)
If you mean "how to craft stuff from diagrams" just go to a blacksmith and ask him to do it for you.
If you are missing how to use meteorite ore, i can't help you, since i'm too early in the game and havent' found an use for it either.
Read the Manual. Seriously.

They are crafting components like any other. They can be used in Sword diagrams later.

Unacosamedarisa: Read the Manual. Seriously.
"In time, you will find armor and sword upgrades, allowing you to improve the qualities
of these items. You can only upgrade those items that contain slots for runes
and enhancements. When you own such a sword or armor and an upgrade, enter
the equipment panel and drag the upgrade in question to a chosen item – it will be
upgraded. You cannot undo an upgrade.
6.2 Crafting items
In the game, you can do more than just create mixtures based on available formulae.
You can also craft items based on found or bought diagrams. Unfortunately Geralt
doesn’t know how to forge sword or make gauntlets, so to craft an item he must
go to a qualified craftsman. Said craftsman must be provided with crafting components
– such as wood, leather or twine - and he’ll use a diagram to craft an item.
When you find a craftsman and pick an appropriate dialogue option, you will see
the item creation panel. The diagrams you own will be visible to the right, and crafting
components will be visible to the left. After picking a diagram, the order and
amount of crafting components necessary to craft the item will appear at the center.
You can fill the list manually, clicking specific components on the list to the
right, or automatically. After filling the list, you can craft the item, which will be
added to the inventory."

This is what the manual says.
Like I said in my OP, which you didn't read, the manual is vague.
I want to know specifically what I do with Metorite Ore in The Witcher 2.
If it is useless, which it seems to be so far, I will sell it.
Noo.... don't sell them. You need them later on to craft weapons and upgrades for those weapons (silver sword, mainly).

Ahh. Thank you. Archangel591 from Estonia as well. :)

I was confused because in The Witcher, Metorite Ore was rare. I can remember doing a dance whenever I found it so I could make a Metorite Sword. In this game, it would seem the land has been pelted by a metor storm, also you can make your own, and now nobody does anything with it.

OK then, I will play on and keep an eye out for ways to use my Metorite Ore.
Lol yeah it's odd, i got about 5 of each of the colored ores.

I've kept some of the 'junk' items as well. Like there's a surgical tool, but I don't know if it'll be used later.
