I have 2 computers:

The first one is four years old, and I have smooth 20 fps:
AMD 5600 2.8 dual core, 9600GT, 4 GB RAM

My new computer cannot run the game and I have fps drop every few seconds:
i7 2.6 GHz, ATI 5650, 4 GB RAM

While my new computer runs every game on high settings, it FAILS to run witcher2 while my old computer, that cannot handle anymore games like shogun2, crysis2, brotherhood, can run wither2 with good fps (at least it never drops)

I have opened this thread especialy for people (fanboys) like this:

I'm sure ATi will fix the issue with a driver sometime in the next few weeks/months. I had and ATi card last year (5870) but sold it due to driver issues, they always worked great with older games but the first few weeks on any new game was rough. Look at the Brink issues...

This is madness. I hope ATI fix this up.
I upgraded from a 5870 to a GTX580, to get the most from TW2 and all I can say is "good riddance." ATi/AMD doesn't get a bad rep for no reason. Even with my 5870 I was having intermittent stuttering with AA and some settings lowered. Sure, its not the best card but it should be more than capable to handle TW2 without stuttering.

Yeah, ATI drivers are bad too, so I wouldn't expect a patch too soon. Theres bugs that have been around for years that they still haven't fixed (eg the mouse corruption when exiting some fullscreen games like starcraft).
