I tried searching, but maybe I used the wrong search terms. I think I'm still in the prologue, but I had collected ore, maybe somewhere around 500 and then *spoiler if you are just starting out*** after I was accused of killing the king I was back to nothing.

Do I get it when I finally leave the castle? I picked quite a few herbs as well.

Thanks.
You get it when you leave don't worry.
You might be overloaded by wood and iron, however.

I recommend using the Unlimited Carry Weight mod to make your experience much smoother.
Thanks guys, I kinda figured especially considering the fact that I didn't see any complaining about it. But good to know, I couldn't imagine them having have me waste that much time collecting for all of it to be gone. :)

I'll look into that mod, but still undecided if I want to use it.

There's no stash in the game.

If you decide not to use it, you'll have to sell most of your stuff. Once you're past the weight limit, you can't run anymore, nor dodge in combat.

There's another mod actually. It reduces the weight of crafting components and herbs to 0.1. I didn't want to use the unlimited weight mod, but this one strikes a nice balance, for me at least.
At the end of the Prologue, after you get all your equipment back, you will probably be overweight making the little "shielded - carry down the path while fighting elves" bit impossible to do. You can just drop a big bundle of stuff in the path and then when you get to Flotsam, run back and pick it up. It should still be there.

If you don't want to use a carryweight mod, this is how I did that.
