I really liked the ability to set a sign with a keyboard button in The Witcher 1, but it appears as though the only similar option is to set the keys to actually cast the sign. While I suppose I could live with that, I would much rather be able to hit 1 and then Aard is my chosen sign. Is there a way to do this in the ini folder? Or is it just not an option, and we are stuck with "next sign". Seems like a very controller oriented decision to only have the next sign function as opposed to what I am describing.
was wondering same thing, and i see you said you can make it cast by clicking a key. thats nice.

i can at least put like the quen sign as a key. i mean you only click it when want it on or wears out. don't need it as quickly. might do same for the trap setting one.
They should already be bound to your numbered keys (3++).

EDIT.
5 - Aard
6 - Yrden
7 - Igni
8 - Quen
9 - Axii

No. Those are binds to CAST them, not to choose them as the sign you want to cast. I want to be able to set Aard as the sign I want to use with a keybind, say 1, and then use Aard with the keybind for casting any sign. Like The Witcher 1. The only similar option right now is the ability to cycle through signs, but that is not optimal.

I would like if the specific Sign hotkeys (5-9) didn't change your current selected Sign.

Edit: Well yeah, or make the specific hotkeys only select and not cast the Signs.

wait so clicking 5 not only switches to that sign, but also casts it?

be nice if you could set it up to either do both, or one or the other.

I would like to be able to click it and it casts it ONLY, with still keeping my sign equiped i had before.
I agree it would have been nice if it were possible. I got around it by binding each sign separately (Q, E, other 3 mouse buttons), and now I'm even happier.

Oh sorry :< You could try to use them though (or rebind them like me), seeing as it's much faster to hotkey cast them than to switch (active) sign all the time.

I' d rather prepare to cast a spell by switching to it before using it than be forced to cast a spell each time I know i m going to be using it later.
There is a reason in most games (action games, fps etc..), why you can just switch weapons with a hotkey instead of shooting switching the weapon you want :)
