I'm trying to install the game on my external hard drive, but I keep getting a message that says, "Installation Failed: Out of Space," before it even finishes allocating. There is PLENTY of space on the drive for the game. I don't understand why it thinks otherwise.

I have about 50 gigs left. The game only takes up 23ish. What's the deal?

How much room do you have on your C-Drive? Usually parts of game still get installed there, even if main part is located somewhere else.
Is it formatted using FAT32 or NTFS?

FAT32 is limited to maximum of 4GB file size. So if an individual file exceeds it, there will be errors.

I have no idea what that means.

If you are using Galaxy, there is twice amount of space needed. For downloading and for installation itself.

Is there a way to do it without galaxy?

Right click on your external drive then choose Properties.

Under General tab, look for File system: .

Yes. Just use browser to get download links. However, you still need to download archives and then install the game, so you need that additional space anyway.

FAT32. I think that might be the problem, then. There seems to be a certain zip file that gives the error. PCCooked or something like that. Is there a workaround?

There's a way to convert FAT32 to NTFS using command prompt in administartor mode. I haven't done it personally, so just search the net.

The other way would be of course by reformatting the drive using NTFS.

Either way you'd need to back up your drive before proceeding, in case of errors or corruption.

P.S. I suggest trying what others come up with first.

Consider this as final option. It might save you the trouble.
