any advice on killing those two wraiths? They just finish me off too quickly and I don't stand a chance. It's only on normal.
Specter Oil is handy if you have the formula (+30% damage to wraiths) and I would at least drink a swallow potion to keep your health up. You can start the fight using the Axii sign to mind control one and hopefully it will work and you can try to kill the other before it wears off.

Other than that just dodge a lot and use quick attacks when you get an opening. And the first room is good practice since you have to fight even more deeper in the ruins.

And it goes without saying but make sure you use your silver sword. I accidentally got my steel sword out the first time I saw them and felt very foolish!

use yerdin sign. And spam light attacks and keep rolling. Once u get 2 light attacks simultaneously, do a heavy attack. Those enemies are tough and thats not the only time u face them in that quest.

U will face 4 more further down the quest
ah never even used Axii yet. I have mostly been using Yrden to stun monsters.
I will give that a try.

Make sure you hold the button down until the sign completes. It isn't like the others where you can just hit the key.
I killed them on hard using only my silver sword(superior I think).I just concentrated on one of them.Either use 1-2 quick blows and dodge backwards and repeat that until you kill the first one.Or somehow make enough distance between the wraiths themselves, choose one and hit it as much as you can with your strong hits.Combining these two is ways is good idea if your going to try, though in the first encounter I would use only the quick attacks and dodge until I kill the first wraith. If you can't do it that way, make the specter oil for your sword,it gives increased damage vs wraiths.
The problem is that the place is so small, you bet quickly hit on the back, which drains a lot of health.

The way I did it, I trapped one with yrden (the trap sign), then attacked the other one with fast blows, so it didn't have a chance to counter-attack... then I trapped the other, and attacked the one that was just released by the sign.

If you trap the first one near a corner, you may have time to kill the other before the first one gets released.

Also get the skill that makes you dodge faster (100% for the 1st level and 200% for 2nd i think). And as always Quen Sign is your friend .:)
I don't have a recipe for specter OIl. where do you get it?
Well the trouble is with using the trap sign is that the specter stays trapped for like 2 seconds then I get pummeled whilst I'm attacking the other one.. very frustrating.

I did it using Quen. I found that a lot easier.

Well, they aren't very difficult, just remember, refresh your quen sign when it goes down, keep using space to roll away from the wraiths and connect with the wraith using a quick slash followed by power attacks. If the other wraith downs your quen sign while you're dishing out the pain on the other one just roll away, refresh quen and repeat.
I managed it with Yrden to stun one, then turned to the other and clicked like mad until it went down. Once you get rid of one, it's not hard to take down the other. Worked on all of them, even the "boss" one.
I was frustrated at first and almost quit the game, but then kept to roll and avoid their attacks until I regained my full health. Then used the magic sign which shielded me and hit the crap out of the closest wraith. When my health went to half I stopped and rolled around the room until full health and repeated the whole process.
When the first one dropped the second was easy prey. :)
