Hi, I've recently installed my copy of the GOG DPE of The Witcher 2 but even with every setting maxed out except ubersampling and the high-quality setting in the Nvidia control panel the mip-mapping in the game seems to aggressive and simplify too much the polygons and blur out the textures that are not close by Geralt.

What I want to ask you is if there is a way to manage the game mip-mapper by config files or other method.

Thank you.

Changing this: MeshDistanceScale=5 like this seems to resolve the problem of the simplified geometry.

Also how about these two in User.ini:

MaxAtlasTextureSize=4096
MaxTextureSize=4096

and this one in Rendering.ini:

MaxResidentMipMap=2

Do you know something? I'm experimenting with the config files and I'll report I find something useful. : )
Any new insights mate?
Mipmapping can usually be avoided by setting "anisitropic filtering" in your nvidia control panel. I set mine to 16x, and textures stay sharp until they are meant to be blurry due to the shader.

No unfortunately. Modifing the mip-map setting in rendering.ini only produce graphic artifacts like purple skies, purple trees, purple everything.

The textures settings below at this moment seem to not produce anything visible but slow the game.

AllowSharpen=0 blur the texture even more.

I've always the AF forced to 16x so this is not the case. So you say that the devs decided to set up the mip-map this way. Yeah, I think so but I think there could be a way to expand the circle range of the character where you see the textures sharp and the grass complex.

Sorry for my bad english but this time I haven't the will to write well.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed this.
I think the solution is in Rendering.ini.

If someone can experiment maybe will resolve this problem.

Or maybe if someone could tell CDPR it could be cool too. Resolved this and finally I can play this good game although I prefer to have containers and PC not console games.
Disregard this post, wrong topic lol.
