And despite all suggestions for fixing it, such as equipping the simple silver sword that appears by itself in your inventory before dragon appears, do NOT work. I keep loosing aerondight or moon blade EVERY time, when Geralt impales the dragon's mouth with it and flies off.

And having the other sword equipped, while keeping the imported in inventory, ALWAYS ends up in the special one vanishing after the sequence, while the simple just reappears on his back (regardless that in the animation, the simple one flew off with the dragon). Please, help??? I really need my sword as a memento/relic??

You'll get it back.

No, i don't. At Roche's ship, upon disembarking on Flotsam, there is still on my inventory the crappy generic Witcher's Silver Sword. Lost for good, the good, imported one... Wouldn't bother reposting, and flagging as problem, if i actually got it back!

Well that's weird, I always get it back in Flotsam.

To be fair, the imported weapons aren't that good in W2, so there's no need to beat yourself over that.

Well, I haven't the slightest idea how to fix this, but I could send you a savegame (just after arrival in Flotsam, Scoia'tael path in TW1), still have Aerondight neatly tucked away. Still blows though, wish you good luck finding a fix!
Thanks! Though, i just fixed the problem... Restarted in Hard difficulty. And as it seems, this problem must be exclusive to the NORMAL difficulty setting. So far, all 5 new playthroughs i started on normal, resulted into me loosing the imported sword.

On hard and dark, this does not happen. A little bit "forced", actually, but goodbye Normal mode for ever, as it seems... Too bad though, bugs like this are very troubling...

Great that you found a workaround! But you are aware that you can switch between difficulties (easy, normal, hard) at any point in the game? Might be interesting to know if the sword remains in the inventory if you just switch difficulties prior to the encounter... Well, anyway, good luck on your hard playthrough, you're a braver man than I am ;)

Well, well, i have totally FORGOTTEN that you can change difficulty! I always saw fit to end what i started, even with a helload of loading, dying and loading again... Either way, thanks for reminding me just that. This way, i can try to go after the "Half-Pirhouette" character attribute, they say you need to deplete all of Letho's life bar in act 1 quickly, before the cutscene (and on higher difficulties, you deal pretty miniscule damage on his fat ass).

Hmmm, wouldn't hurt to try and kill the operator, either. Would like to see if his staff can be imported over to 3, and his other drops are pretty very interesting.

Well, I later found this post from you

and felt pretty silly posting such basic info to a Witcher 2-veteran :)
Very helpful post btw, so belated thanks for that!

Nah. Thanks for flattering me, but i am just a noob in this game. I simply reproduce the tricks that OTHERS invented, and presented, a great deal of time before i did. Besides, each and every "veteran" in the witcher 2, has already completed one or two insane runs already, and i never even decided to start one.

Though by the game being patched and updated, somehow i ended up with this bug; always loosing my imported silver sword on Normal only...
