hi all.

Yes I had the same problem "everyone" else has been having, corrupted download files with witcher 2 enhanced.

I wonder if another "issue" is involved here.

The other night after finding out that the downloaded 12 gig file from the witcher site, was corrupted, i shut my computer down and went to bed. the next morning when i booted up my computer, i had a small nasty surprise! the boot up was slow and every site came up like my cable was dialup 40k speed! Then I found that my windows programs and my malware antibytes program were also terribly slow.
[did I have a virus?]
[no, I eventually found that I did not!]

I then deleted all the setup files and uninstalled witcher 2.
I rebooted.
the computer was back to normal!

hmmmmm.....

I have seen this sort of thing happen a lot over at the public library computers. These computers have, i guess, a small cache memory, or "something", as when i open several large internet pages or download nearly "anything", soon the bowser opens site pages at dialup 40k speeds!
then, soon, slower than dialup! choke...choke.

I had set my virtual memory at about 8gigs, *much* more than the "recommended" size.

Thus, people, I have a suspicion that most, even modern, computers are not built to handle GULPING a 12 gigabyte file all at once! the computer becomes "chocked" and then even more possibilities of corrupted files will then happen!

I suppose that one could either "let windows manage the virtual file size" or set this size at about 40 gigs!! then take the size back down after the install.

Or.....
---install, like I am trying now, the GOG backup game. do not use the gog installer, as i think it will download all at once, the files. use the "browser version" so that you see the files in a max of 2 gig chunks. download only up to 6 gigs, at one computer session, then reboot and thus clean out the system then download another 4 to 6 gigs. repeat until done.
