This is really weird.

I had problems to enter the serial key, as if the input dialog didn't recognize my keyboard. I've typed, nothing appeared.

So I clicked to activate anyway. It downloaded something, and then a new screen appeared to enter my serial key (along with another serial number in the bottom). I've noticed that the field had already some typed characters, which I reconized as the ones I've typed but didn't appear in the previous screen.

I've typed the serial key and the game is activated. Cool.

I start the launcher and click "Register game", and the same problem happens: I can't type anything!

I try to register an account anyway (maybe I can't see anything, but somehow the input is being saved anyway). A dialog box appears saying the registration was successful.

I try to login, the same problem appears. But this time it doesn't accept my username. I try again and again, nothing!

I use the option to recover the password. I type my email (it doesn't appear in the input field) and click the button. A message appears saying an email was sent.

But I didn't get any email. Tried again, nothing.

How can I register the game?

nvm, missed a few lines there

Ok, so it appears your probelm really is that what you type is not showing on the input fields, right ?

Make sure that the system fonts are displaying at 100%, that should solve the issue with the input fields.

How do I do that?

Anyway, even if I try to type blindly, it doesn't work. :(

Over: How do I do that?
Windows XP
Rightclick on the desktop -> Select Properties -> Choose Display Settings
Click Advanced.
In General tab in DPI setting menu select Normal size (96 DPI)

Windows Vista/7
Open menu Start -> Go to the Control Panel -> Then to Appearance and Personalization - Display Settings.
From text size options select Smaller - 100% (default)
Thanks, but it didn't work.

Anyway, I've tried to vreate another accont with another email, writting blindly, and it worked, eventually.

Now the problem is that I can't download any DLC. :(

There appears most of the time conection errors.
And when it manages to connect, it downloads, then hangs, then conection error again and no DLC downloaded. :(

There seem to be some connection issues with their server on my side as well. The best I can suggest is to try again a bit later, or earlier in the day tomorrow.

To try to comfort you about the free DLC (Troll's Trouble) : I started without it, activated it at a later time, and could resume my game without any hiccups.

Good game to you ^.^

Marcin posted here about that. Apparently the DLC will be offline during the weekend.
Okies, I wasn't aware of that.

Thank you for the heads up, Namur.

You're welcome nissa.

Let's hope CDPR manages to solve all the server side problems during the weekend. And bring their forums back online too.
The problem in the original post is still there.

I've tried to install the patch, but it didn't work. So I decided to uninstall the game and do a clean install again.

Now, in the launcher, I can't login. It says my username or password is incorrect. Which isn't. Anyway, I clicked the "forgot your password" button, it says it sent an email but I didn't receive any. I've checked the spam box and everything.

All this while I can't see what I type. It's as if my keyboard wasn't plugged.

When will this problem be solved?

I'm realy unhappy about no official answers to this. I'm starting to think it was a huge mistake to buy this game. I guess I'm getting more problems than those who just pirate it. :(

Yeah, the registration part is kinda broken for some it seems. But you dont really need to register at this time. The day 1 dlc "troll trouble" is included in patch 1.1. and if you need a vendor dlc can be download it here
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/dlc_download_from_this_topic

They are aware of the registration/dlc problems and are redoing the server that handles that, so by the time new dlc arrives, everything should work
