What a sad moment. My eyes actually got wet when the king was murdered, he was starting to grow on me,

He telling me he'd let me go with triss, just moment earlier and seeing the little girl at the end it's soo........sad.

The scene could have been made more dramatic though, The problem is they give away whats gonna happen too soon.

I'm truly enjoying this game, is like watching a movie. Better, cause I participate in it.
But Foltest does have questionable past, especially concerning Adda...

Well, both Adda's :)

Y'know - You're really gonna like this game.

I thought it was a really cool moment, just visually and the magnitude of what happened but I felt little sympathy for Foltest. He isn't exactly a sympathetic character.
Was it ever explained why Geralt's medallion didn't alert him to the danger? It goes off around other magical types in the game. Or dangers. Or magical dangers. Or if someone has a handful of flower petals in a sack that you might be vaguely interested in.

I'm not sure if the medallion goes crazy over other "witchers" which was the case in that scenario.
He kinda had it coming. Trusting a blind monk like that. Only a complete idiot would not suspect everyone and everything. Natural selection in action.

the medallion only reacts to monsters and magic, not mutants.

It was a Witcher under an active spell, though. With what else Ive seen in the game, if the world is consistent with it's own rules, that seems like the sort of thing that would have triggered his Medallion.

Just nitpicking. Sometime having "spidey sense" is inconvenient for a plot. I'm just a little obsessed with continuity.

... and you're able to alter the course!

But you're right, CDPR really got the hang of how to envoke/use emotions and induce affection towards characters - and generally making you immerse yourself in the world and the story.
And a slightly different matter: Their use of nudity/sexuality is great. There's nothing weird about those moments - it seems natural, mature and (mostly) at the same time playful.
They really aspired to new heights in those aspects, imo.

About the medaillon: My guess is that it's no immediate danger to Geralt himself, while the medaillon was created for and adjusted to him. About the magic: there's simply none involved.
Edit: What kind of "spell" was the kingslayer under? He was just disguised and blindfolded, wasn't he?

.

I believe it is "Magic or danger". Thats what Geralt keeps saying in my game anyway, when the medallion goes off.

The cloaking/disguise spell?

It was some seriously good writing and character connection with that. I know where you're coming from, one of those 'tug at your heart' moments. I think the last game that did that for me was PS:Torment when you first got to the negative material plane.

Naw dude, that disguise was magical. One sec hes a scrawny monk, the next he's a middle linebacker.
I disagree. I think it was a mere 'physical' disguise. He wore a wide robe, bent over a bit and that's it.
I do not deem a witcher able of performing such complex magic, like a cloaking spell. And from my (far-from-finished-with-the-game) point of view, there are no sorcerers involved in the assassinations who might have helped him with that.

That was a shock for me too! I didn't expect him dying like that after all he's been through. From all the kings of northern kingdoms he was the most likeable one.
