This looks awesome, but I want to play through the first one before I really decide if I want to get the second one (definitely through GOG if I decide to). I'm in school, so I'd kind of like to play the first one over the Christmas break. Will the pre-order deal still be available then?

The pre-order period on here lasts until the game's release date on May 17, 2011, so you've got plenty of time to play through the first one. :)

Just keep in mind that the box estimates game play to take about 90hrs to complete and plan accordingly. You mileage may vary but I found this to be a pretty accurate estimate.
Well, in that case, I'll rephrase and say I want to *start* the first one before preordering. :D Thanks for the info!

lol :D

Good Idea. Since most games I play are generally between 50 and 60 hours (Elder Scrolls excluded) I didn't read the box and thought the Witcher 1 was in that ballpark. About half way through I was thinking "Goodness! How long IS this game?!?" Then I read the box. Don't worry, it is worth every minute of the play time.
