I have the AU version of The Witcher 2, If I look in the GOG store The Witcher 2 will not be dimmed and will not say 'GAME OWNED'. It wants me to spend another $40 for that privelege. BTW AU dollars are = to US dollars.

I emailed GOG and got a rather "steam-like" reply. Basically I am apparently stupid as they have already fixed the issue. I emailed them again to explain that the issue HAS NOT been resolved and GOG ignored me. Feels VERY MUCH like Steam.

Here is the proof, here is what I see on the GOG page (5 minutes ago), proving that GOG does NOT recognise my purchase (I must be seeing things in my "ignorance") and will not resolve the issue ( seems I am a 'stupid-hater' for even asking for a resolution).

Do you have a screenshot of the paper trail?
There was an issue with 404s that they were working on recently, and it's possible that they assumed that all the little bug things would be ironed out as a result of whatever they supposedly fixed. I wouldn't take them not responding as them ignoring you, because it's very possible that they're simply looking into it. From what I've seen, they're reluctant to write if they're not yet sure what's causing something.

Is it just that area that doesn't recognize your purchase? Other than that, does the game show up in your account if you access your games through the top menu (my account -> my games), or is it not showing up at all?
To clarify they said they knew about the issue and that it is already fixed. Trying to email them one more time and waiting a couple days resulted in nothing ...I was ignored.

Secondly, yes it is in my library, but in the rest of the store, including the game's main page (no image of that) it says 'Add to Cart' instead of 'Game Owned'.

I don't think this will change for Australian users as they have no interest in fixing it.
But can you download and play the game?
So, the game shows up in your library, so you can freely download it and play it - and have access to all the extras that come with it.

You are having this huge hissy-fit because it doesn't show up properly on other pages of the GOG website? Really?

Why the heck would you even give a damn?

Use your energy to play the game. Or go save a puppy.

^Not the point, the point I was making was that they have no interest in fixing small issues their customers ask about and then ignore customers after a single email ...this is not good business practice (doing the best you can). Instead of lying about the issue they could have said something like 'sorry, it is a persistent problem'. And I would have felt good about their business.

Thier attitude was dismissive and arrogant <<<this is the issue.

I also do not like how you charaterised 'expecting to be treated fairly' as a 'hissy fit'.
It is a cheap provacation (from a cheap mind), is this how you entertain yourself?

Maybe you should take your own advice and play a game instead of trying to be an ass by twisting and framing things out-of-context for your amusement and for a reaction.

Thus I will not react/respond to any further miserable 'insights' you may have. Bye bye now and good luck, you'll need it.

Not to be rude, but it seems you're taking GOGs reply a little too much to heart. Whenever I've had an issue it's been fixed in a timely fashion. Honestly, so long as you have your purchase in your Library that's what matters. If you hadn't of gotten your game at all then I would see a reason to be upset.

I have never once been treated "unfairly" when I've emailed GOG about a problem, if anything I find their emails brief and clear. Keep in mind you are probably not the only person sending them an email for various reasons, so a reply may be fairly delayed in some cases. If you didn't get a reply it also may have been not delivered, so try sending another email.

Finally, I don't think people are really "twisting and framing things out-of-context for" their amusement. They are simply voicing their views; I have yet to see them put anything demeaning or rude from what I can see. But that's my view, take of it what you wish.

We run on a skeleton crew on weekends, and during that time we prioritize crucial issues, especially related to account access and billing.

My colleague replied to the best of his knowledge - that we are aware of the problem and have fixed it. I'm not exactly sure what is Steam-like about his reply, and would appreciate some more feedback as to what makes a Support reply a non-Steam-Support-like reply, for my consideration as to whether or not I should implement some new procedures within my department.

I must, however, apologize for my colleague being incorrect in his reply - while our devs are aware of the issue, it hasn't been fixed _yet_. The problem is related to the way our back-end works and fixing it would require considerable effort from our devs. Since we discovered the problem on Friday afternoon, and it isn't a severe issue, it wasn't fixed by the end of the day.

While this issue can be confusing, the original purchase is recognized and can be found in a user's My Account section. As far as I am aware, it shouldn't be possible to re-purchase the same game within a few hours of the original purchase (but please let me know if this hasn't happened by now in your case). What further decreased this problem's perceived severity, is that, to all intents and purposes, the user inflicts this glitch upon himself (as in, repurchasing doesn't occur without a user's knowledge), and we can always remedy such a problem with a quick refund.

Ok, maybe I was a bit harsh, but calling me 'a hissy fit guy' also seems harsh. So I really don't care.

I was honest with GOG, I actually said (no access to original email, but I did say something like this)
"I don't know if I actually own this game or not, I thought the deal was for both games". I checked my library and the conflict of information can be 'confusing' ..was the deal a mistake, was it going to be changed later. I don't work at GOG.

The guy only mentioned an 'issue'. I don't care about the issue, which was not even fixed (right now it still says 'add to cart'), but I don't care about that. Why is it saying I don't own the game, 'Game Owned'. Important when buying licenses online, as I cannot download it straight-away.

Look, I have AS, as with many GOG customers. I cannot understand where people are coming from, this is why I rely on honesty. I just need it to be black and white, yes or no, otherwise there is likely to be a misunderstanding and I am likely to get upset and create a stupid thread to find-out, as the game is more important to me than what others think.

I have no idea why he didn't just be honest and say 'the store is in error, you own the game and it will not be removed from your library. The issue is rather trivial'. I would have agreed and felt delighted with the honesty, would've made me feel like I can Trust GOG.

The one time I emailed Steam was when they sold me a Red-Faction-like game that was not actually Red-Faction. I emailed them to say that their modifications of the game made it not Red-Faction and that I had been deceived. They justified their deception, somehow, and gave me a refund saying 'they don't normally and don't have to do this'. They defrauded me then lied, then framed me as pety for calling them out; in my country fraud is a crime, so they did have to refund me.

My faith in GOG is restored however, I like Good Old Games better than the endless sea of military propaganda anyways...

Thankyou for your very understanding and kind reply.

Don't worry, I got the same "Strange (Not)Owner" Issue as well. Game shows up in my Account as owned and as long it is there for d/l, I don't care about that "Glitch".
