Is there a way to get rid of the intro movies and just go straight to the main menu? I dont understand why its necessary to skip 105 company logos every startup.

Renaming the movie files does not work, it just makes you look at a blank screen for the length of intro movie. So I'm guess there must be a command somewhere. Has anyone else figured this out?
There is another thread about this, and no, unfortunately. You can skip them with the mouse, if you didn't know. I find that a little easier...And you can skip them all at once..you don't have to wait for each one. A proper option will probably come before too long through the modding community.

They weren't very imaginative on the repetitious backgrounds... maybe they had room to fill up on the CD?

I tracked most of the video files and tried to get rid of them, either by erasing them or by replacing them with dummy files. The problem is that the game stops when it does not find a video. You have to hit Esc then.

As I didn't see much of a difference having to press Esc (or the left mouse button) for nonexisting videos or for real ones I left everything as it was. ^^

But you're absolutely right. After I've seen those "intros" - 5 videos basically all the same - I couldn't but wonder which genious allowed this. It's really stupid. :D

I laughed a lot. It's like a bad movie trailer.
Delete these in the movies folder

cdpr.usm
gfx_logo.usm
gog.usm (since i got mine from GoG)
middleware.usm
nvidia.usm
redengine.usm

yes that leaves blank (black video)

so all you need to do is hit escape or mouse left click five times to get to the witcher main screen

i just have a macro button on my mouse programed to hit escape 5 times and bang i get right to the intro screen.

You can skip them by hitting escape or left clicking five times anyway, so that's pointless.

Jajaja, you are right ;) +10
I have made a mod that removes all intro movies except the CD project one. Will upload it and make a thread

Doesn't matter, he will still stop for each missing video, so it's still 5x Esc / mouse cklick. ;)

No, the mod works cause I changed a file that calls what clips to play at startup

Update: fixed the link

Damn, that's the trick. I knew there must be a file or entry looking for the movies. I searched in the config files and couldn't find it. Good work! :) Downloading.

/edit: ...where did you upload it?
