My system is
AMD Phenom II 955 BE X 4 3.2 ghz
8gb DDR3
windows 7 64bit
nvidea geforce 9800/9800gtx+

the game launcher recommends ultra settings, but even on high its really blurry moving camera around, and the mouse lags really bad, the cutscenes play perfect but gameplay is brutal its hard to even enjoy battles. I updated my drivers on the vid card to nviedas latest update but im at a loss of what to do, i think my system is overkill to run this game.... am i missing something??

**edit**
just rolled back drivers to 275.27 with uninstall 3d going to try this and see if any improvement and resolution is 1680X1050

just turned off blur settings and my fps is only slightly better im averaging 16-23 fps in gameplay about 25-30 during cutscenes , to me this is almost unplayable, is there any thing else i can do to get this better??
Drop everything to low except your resolution. Take note of your FPS results. Slowly increase individual settings until it looks its best @ a framrate you accept.

I don't think you have a problem I just think your settings are too high. My E8400+9800GTX didn't do much better than that at 1600x900. It ran 25-35 FPS on medium ish settings.

You are GPU bound right now the 9800gtx is dated. A 6870/560 would be a pretty nice upgrade for your current setup.

Also if you are an enterprising sort you could look into OC'ing that Phenom. But that won't help you much(at all probably) without a GPU upgrade to go with it.

Try using this tool when experimenting with different settings; it has more options and works better than the built-in configuration program, and is much easier to handle than to manually make the changes to the user.ini file in your documents folder.

Ubersampling and Motion Blur are the first two things you need to switch off, when running into low frame rates while playing. The former being a setting that you need dual-GPU setups to even consider trying out, as far as I know.

with vertical sync off, aa ssao, motion blur disabled, im actually getting 26-35 fps during play now.... this is def. do-able for me, and thanks for the tip of the gpu , i knew mine had to be a lil old but thought it would still do the job.

The display card is slow, OC'ing Phenom won't help.

My system is
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE_C3 Rev_running @ 2.7 ghz (0.9875v) via forced PState=1
1GBx4 slots DDR2 800 Mhz 4-4-4-12
windows 7 32bit
AMD 6950 2GB Sapphire (reference design)

Pretty sure I mentioned that.
A 9800GTX+ is not that bad, it should be able to run the game on medium at that resolution.

And overclocking the CPU may help, the game uses Havok Physics which requires a decent CPU.

Turn off Uber, Blur, SSAO and AA.
got it running decent now im avg about 30-35 fps when i go in caves or houses it jumps up to 50 ...wish it ran the whole time like that. i think i am going to take the advice tho and upgrade to the 560 vid card, i just built this system specifically for this game, and didnt realize my GPU would be holding me back... whats another 250$ right?? LOL
**edit**
oh and i am overclocked to 3.5ghz currently...
