ok the game guide says that you get melitele's heart regardless of wether you tell newboy to wear his armor or not, i told him to wear it and now i am in lobiden where i am supposed to be able to unlock the amulets powers but apearentely i don't have it, i talked to newboy after i escaped the dungeon and did everything i was supposed to, and the quest entry doesn't say wether i have it or not either, anezka in lobidan doesn't give me any other option other than shop or play dice and she is supposed to give me the quest to fix the damn amulet, i'm a little bit pissed about this since i double checked the game guide to make sure i was going to get this item but i guess not.

I also have this problem.

i went back and reloaded a savegame and its definetly a bug because he does give you the amulet but it doesn't showup in your quest inventory, now i'm pissed, i'm not the type of guy who usually does more than 1 playthrough of a game so now i'm going to nmis out on this item because by the time they fix it i will be too far passed there to want to start again.

has anybody been able to finish this quest??

I just noticed this as well. I told Newboy to wear his armor so I met him when escaping the dungeon. He gives me a book on dragons but not the amulet. It seems you have to let the guards see you and kill them and newboy to get the amulet. Is that intended?

no the game guide says he gives you amulet for saving him.

guess i have to lose several hours of gameplay and go back and kill him if i want the amulet

That is a bummer. I guess I will keep going with my save from killing him even though I feel bad about it.

I'm also having this problem. Convinced Newboy to wear his Armour, met him after the Dungeons, and he didn't give me the Amulet... Don't have it anywhere in my inventory. Just the Book on Dragons, if it was him that gave that to me. So, it's either an error in the Game Guide (and the reward is the Book) or a bug, and we're maybe supposed to get both, or a choice.

I noticed the game guide is not 100% accurate.

For example: I remembered watching a demo the developers were showing off that had the section where Geralt is trying to break out of prison. I remembered that after you got out, you could retrieve your sword. I tried finding it for what seemed like forever. I then loaded up the guide and it said the same thing. If it is in there, then there must be some glitch that is preventing me from getting it, because it is nowhere to be found.

Apparently, they changed the layout and structure of the level at a later point and forgot to tell the person who was writing the guide so he could update it. My guess is we are going to find several places where the guide is no longer accurate.

If you tell him not to wear it the first time they ask, and remind them it brings bad luck since it brought them to squirrels and the dragon, they will give it ti you then, not later - and the game will register it properly.

I accidentally killed newboy and the guards and definitely got the amulet. I'm not reading the guide just winging it.

I've managed to lift the curse and medallion brings +1 vitality restoration. Now I only need to find a way to equip the damn thing xD

I think you get the effect as long as it is in your inventory. Before you purify it it gives -10% armor and I'm pretty sure my armor went from 10 to 9 when I picked it up.

Same thing for me.
I saved Newboy, I checked again my inventory in Act 1, but I don't have the item and Anezka doesn't talk about it. The quest isn't in the diary.

And I have another problem for the troll tongue : we can have it by winning at the dice game against Zegota.
But I already beat him, before I talk to him about the troll head, and nobody happens when I win again at the dice game.

You only get the amulet if you say you can use it during the Prologue (they offer it as a reward for warning them about the curse). If you do not get it then, you cannot get it.

Whether that's a bug or not is debatable.
