I had to go through hoops to get the original uncensored. It was all rather ridiculous. What I want to know is, is this version uncensored?

I don't want to find out they are selling three different versions and Poland gets the only real one, while everyone else gets green blood, old English teatime language, and Amish clothing.
I think they will just make one version for all regions. So I think that from the beggining they made a game that didn't need to be censored anywhere.

I guess we can say goodbye to "Your mama ***** dwarf ****" if you know what I mean. Shame, but no game breaker imo.

If I were a betting man, that's where my money would go.
Yes, I really hope it's not going to be censored, I like to play the game as the creators intended it, not how the rating boards like it to be. GOG, please give a conclusive answer about this.

here in Australia we have a lot of problems with our ratings board, although the First Witcher game got though with no probs twice. Once with the first release and with the enhanced edition. So here is hoping all will happen the same.

No I'm pretty sure the australian releases were the censored us version, I had to order mine from the uk.

I think they've been saying that they are almost certain all versions will be the same, but are awaiting a reply from the american review board.

hehe, lucky bastard! :) but yeah I think I'm wrong here, maybe it was never censored and the store just got it wrong, but I wasn't taking the chance lol. I just looked online and it seems like everyone is saying the same, so, sorry about that, I stand corrected.

Hopefully we'll get that R Rating soon though :) We've waited long enough.

BTW you might want to look into ordering your games overseas anyway. Unfortunately even counting posting it's usually cheaper to get games from the uk or sometimes the us than the retailers here, seems we're always being milked more than we should be. Seriously like 50% of the price most of the time, if you don't mind waiting a week for it to get here. Just got gothic 4 for 20 gbp (which atm would be 32 au$ ) bought 2 at once and split the postage (although even one at a time you'd save $20-$30) EB games just wants to screw us :(

yeah thats for sure, i buy almost all my pc games overseas now. been saving a massive amount of money!!
I hope its uncensored too or offer a patch to make it uncensored. Its lucky alot of my Family lives in Poland and I was able to get Witcher 1 Uncensored at release.

But GoG is cool, they dont censor their own forums here, so I cant imagine they'd sell a Censored version.

I'd like to echo, I dont give a fuck what the Ratings boards think I should be playing, Im an adult and spending my hard earned money, I want the game as envisioned and written by the Developers.
I'm not purchasing anything until this question is answered.

Especially after what happened with the first game release. That was a poor way to handle it, and how bad would it be to find out your copy from this website is Sesame Street friendly?

First of all - CD Projekt RED stated that there won't be any "sex cards" in The Witcher 2.

Second - the whole sexual part of the game will be less arcade (thus no "sex cards") and presented in more subtle way (look at the screenshots with Geralt and Triss bathing).

Last thing - CD Projekt is not responsible for the whole censorship thing, so please, don't blame them. Every country has its laws regarding such things like sexual content in games, or violence. If German law states that there should be no blood, or it should be green (just for an example) - CD Projekt has to prepare such a version for German market. If in United States the law states that a breast can only be shown without a nipple - well, CD Projekt can't do anything about it.

If you want to blame anyone (and I think you have the right to) - blame your government, or whoever is responsible for such laws in your country.
Actually, Technically, there is no laws on video games in the USA. The problem is you have moralist groups like Parent Teacher or Association or Catholics with their claws in the voluntary ESRB rating board which imposes their morality on games, technically games can have sex and violence and all that but then the ESRB Rates it AO and stores will refuse to carry the game because of said moralist groups, and companies dont want to take a loss of profit over artistic decisions.

I do blame them, but only because they didn't make both versions available for distribution. They should have chosen one distributor for the uncensored version, and then create another version for all of the concerned parents out there that shouldn't be playing this game anyways. It could have been handled better by doing this- but wasn't.
