Having tried a number of times getting the game to work after the enhanced version came out, uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting old downloads, redownloading new files, the latest attempt stops at the launcher. "Changelist 1 has stopped working" and I am booted back to the launcher. Can someone explain what's going on? Or at least direct me to the NON enhanced version that worked? I even deleted my saved games because its been far too long to understand the game mechanics if I ever got it working again...
Halp!

I just downloaded the game and experiencing the same problem. It's very aggravating and I can't seem to find a solution to it.
Same scenario here, I downloaded it, installed it and tried to play it, only to be greeted by the previously mentioned error. And yes, I have tried uninstalling and installing the game again.
I have updated my graphic drivers yesterday.

PS : I have also tried circumventing the launcher and starting the .exe directly.

When I downloaded it yesterday I did this:

Installed with admin rights and in a customized location
Checked admin rights, disable desktop composition and visual themes

It works like a charm but I had an unusual blue sky in the beginning but after rebooting my computer that disappeared apparently.
Tried, but unfortunately didn't work...

What OS are you using?
Windows Vista. Not cutting edge by any definition, but the game is supposed to support XP, Vista & 7.

I also tried running it in XP compatibility mode, no dice either.

I found this hotfix on the official website which worked for me :

en dot thewitcher dot com slash dotnet
I found no hotfixes for this problem, and found threads also relating to this problem. If it were indeed a common issue perhaps the solution would be more obvious? I'll be happy for the old version of the game at this point.
