How is the general state of the game nowadays in comparison to how it was at launch?

I was met with abyssmal performance on my otherwise fairly good rig, and now that it's been a couple of months - I want to get back into the game and play differently, BUT I am afraid that the FPS will be as atrocious as before.

My question is this; has the recent two or so patches sorted out the FPS for us single card ATI users? What about any new ATI drivers?

Cheers,
Kerrazy

I am an ATI/AMD user;

I use a pretty fast mid-high end card, I got no issues with the games performance. Drivers I use are Catalyst 11.6 + Catalyst 11.6 CAP 3...

ATI user, no problems. Noticable performance improvement after DRM removal, and then even more after patch 1.2 I think.
crossfire performance is worse lately, don't know if it's because of ATI or CDPR. Anyway the performance is good if you use radeonpro with AFR-Friendly cf profile and Alternate frame.

Two points.

1. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-stutter-crossfire,2995.html <- read through this once...

2. Witcher 2 appears to have extremely specific issues only for extremely specific set of users..couple this with point 1 and you pretty much got the answer.

Which goes back to the same thing we discussed about QA. I think is simply because they're a small company.
I've only played the game patched, with a 4890 and driver v11.4, 1920x1200 with everything on max (No AA, SSAO or Uber).

I haven't had any crashes or bugs in 2 playthroughs.
Got an hd 5770 here, i play everything on Max (but I've got a quite powerful computer, i5 2500k@4.2, 8gb ram, the game is installed on a ssd) with ubersampling on!

Lol..again!..

Most of the issues are related to the configurations or settings the users themselves are using, CDPR can't magically ping a million PC gamers and test another subset of million PC configurations and another subset of million PC settings.....and then QA the whole lot.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Ubersampling on? With a 5770?

I have a 5850 and it runs pretty well.....but no ubersampling. Something fishy here!
So.. I can actually give it a go now?

w00t! I didn't get past the initial opening sequence.
