Trying to help King Foltest aim the ballista, but no matter where I aim, I can only get 3 or 2.5 degrees. I've tried using the keyboard to aim, and that didn't help either. :(

Any tips?

Edit:
Finally got it. Do not skip the conversation at all, and only use the keyboard to pick conversation choices. Then line up the red plumed guy at 1.5 degrees and press space...

Thanks! I'll give that a shot. Hopefully they'll patch it so people don't have to use the forums, they can skip conversation on later playthrough, then aim with the mouse & click to fire... would be nice.

the spyglass sure had a weird reticle. it took me a few tries until i discovered that I need to aim at the center of the parapet, not the guy himself. (keep getting 2.5 degrees instead of the right one 1.5)

The trick is... use the II (or numeral 2 ) to aim, aim for the center wood structure between the two people, and right about where their feet would be. Thus, use the crosshairs at the center of the numeral II and the center vertical line, placing that crosshair on the wood structure

In my case, the error was procuded because the interferying between gamepad and keyboard/mouse

Turn off the gamepad and aim with the mouse... And no problem :)

Just a question: Does it really matter if you hit them or not? I don't think I noticed any difference. Other than hearing foltest say a one liner. =P

If you don't kill the guy via the ballista, you have to kill him yourself when fighting on the battlements. That's about it.
