1. I have seen a lot of hating and bashing on the website of CDPR for having troubles registering/activating
2. the servers had to go down so people could not register their game for a couple of hours. this angered a lot of people. Since I got it from GoG there is no DRM and no need for registering to play the game.
3. The download speed on the GoG server is as fast as can be (for me)
4. The community is nice, friendly and helpful. Some annoyances here and there but no angry inapropiate cursing and bashing
5. Being able to play it on the 17th as intended and not having to wait until the 20th for the release of the product in my country.
6. Paying 43 euro's and getting $16 coupons to get more games.
7. Getting another game for free
8. Including the beautiful art book
9. No delays on the ultimate release time.
10. Smooth installation of the game.
I wish to express my full support to this high-quality thread!

Thanks. While I'm at it, I did not want to bother talking about it but my settings are detected on 'high' performance, yet the frame rate is slow in the forest. Now I just deal with it but I think the gameplay would be enhanced if I could get a bit higher fps. Ati Radeon 5830 HD user here.
I looked at the sticked topic but I can only select to not allow the game to use the AA and other stuff.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but must everything be in a top 10 format these days?
how much are they paying you?
11. I got it for free from someone in the GoG community

They actually charged me.It's a complete free fan service.
I got the physical version of it and I love the packaging but it did cause more then a few headaches for me since I discovered that my dvd drive was dying and ended up driving around all day getting a new one and then looking for sata cables before I realized that I had some extras in my mobo box

That reminds me of buying an old vga monitor for my old cpu, which was not compatible with the video card unless I had a converter. So I replaced the video card for a newer one and kind of wrecked it. (it works but sits loosely in the computer) just to find the converter later in my mobo box.
Ha ha, reminds me of my drawers full of electronic junk - you always find amazing stuff while rummaging, just not the part you are looking for. And a friend once asked me, if I had any drawer or box without a keyboard in it. I checked and well, she was right. :D

12. no more GEO IP! Game for sensible prices. Even when travelling. ;)

I wonder how this autodetecting works - coincidence? A lot of people say that they get bad FPS with the detected settings. Mine detected high settings; out of curiosity I selected ultra settings and only disabled ubersampling and motion blur, cause that made me dizzy. And it runs just fine. But I'm not out of, err, in the woods yet, so I might change that later.

I tried the ultra setting too for fun during the prologue. My video card didn't like it that much. I mean it went okay but not smooth. Just wait until you get into the beautiful forest.

Yeah, I thought as much. But since my game has been behaving exceptionally well in comparison, I'm not afraid that I will loose too much quality. So far so pretty. :)
I must also give kudos to GOG for their great service and community thus far. The game downloaded very quickly (the GOG downloader didnt work, but the browser download was lightning fast), and the community has been both respectful and helpful thus far.

Also, I was very pleased to see that their servers were able to handle not only the demand, but also people flooding the forums looking for solutions to XYZ issue, or just to make comments. As someone who works in the Dedicated Hosting industry I can safely say that I was pleasantly surprised. Even Steam gets their servers overwhelmed on launch days, sometimes resulting in up to 24 hours before someone can even play their preordered game.

On a side note though, I also have to give some kudos to Steam. I had originally preordered the game through them, but once I found out about the perks of GOG's preorder (it launched at 2am my time instead of 6-7am via steam) I requested a refund on the evening of the 16th from Steam on my preorder. I didnt hear back from them until a few hours ago, but they gave me no grief at all about my refund request. Sure, I did technically request it beforehand, but not by much, and I know a lot of companies that would have given a significant amount of pushback for my request (accounting dept closed for the day, etc).

All in all, I am very pleased with my decision to order from GOG, and hopefully they'll have some other newer titles available at launch in the future. Great work GOG staff, you won over a lot of new clients by pulling this off so well!
