I'm at 65 hours and just reached Act III.

I finished a play-through while I was reading this thread.


Yesterday, I violated causality and finished the game before I started it. I feel particularly ashamed about that, and have been told to think of baseball when Im playing to keep it from happening in the future.

calm down..he just picked the wrong time to try and say he beat the game.

many people pull this stunt as an attention seeker,in fact 10 hours might be possible on easy and clicking away/skipping all the dialogue,i saw my mate run through a chapter earlier doing this,took a few hours though.

but as a boasting point its kinda sad,even at £25 it would be a waste of money to skip to the end of the game on easy.

Going to file this one under who cares. If you skip everything you possibly can to finish a game as fast as possible you obviously are not going to get much out of it. News at 6

Well to be honest. People said crappy Oblivion's main quest storyline couldn't be finished in under 30 hours and I finished it in 3 hours. I think this game can be finished in a quick time too.

Dog, I'm 10 hours and still on the first act, enjoying every second....This is extremely subjective.

How did you calculate your time spent playing the game? If you are using the Steam timer then it's possible you are mistaken because it's notorious for being wrong.

Some games need to be savored, enjoyed - this is not a game to rush through.

I played Portal 2 a few weeks back and everyone was saying how much longer than the original it was. Unlike TW2 which is all about freedom, exploration, etc., Portal 2 is a linear story unfolding for every "trigger" you pass. It made me want to play faster just to get the next bit of story and the result was that I completed the game in just under 6 hours without missing much.

TW2 is the opposite - the areas are beautiful and there's so much to uncover and see, side quests to do, that you don't want to rush ahead. I'm about 10 hours in, and still in act 1, still need to do some of the biggest quests. And why? Because I've been gathering lots of plants, crafting all sorts of traps and bombs, talked to almost every person walking around, become a good poker player, etc.

Of course. You can speed through anything. I feel sad for you, if that is how you play these rich detail filled games. You are getting literally nothing from them. Done here.

You know linking those might show that you did beat the game, but it doesn't prove you did it in 10 hours.

I agree the game is too short, I was expecting more. Guess will have to wait for extra content :)

Also, isn't level 34 the maximum one?

35, Steam even has an achievement for it. I barely got to 34 on Roche's side, while I managed 35 on Iorveth's.

This was not some lame attempt at bragging, nor did I have to skip any dialogue, and completed all the side quests I came across playing on normal, hence my final level of 35.

I posted, as I am seriously disappointed at how short the play through was, the bulk of the games content is contained within the first two acts. levels come far too easily later in the game, completing part of a quest will award a level or even two for the main quest arcs, and combat is easy once you start pinning everything down with an upgraded aard first.

While I am well aware there are multiple paths to play through, having completed so quickly I seriously cba playing through the prologue and act 1 so soon as everything is fresh in my mind and would play through even quicker second time out. Having completed witcher 1 may have helped slightly although not a great deal, as this is somewhat different with respect to drinking potions on the move, combat is less about strategy here and so forth.

Ultimately, it was over much too fast, far quicker than any other rpg's I have ever played, and I have played most of them since the earliest days of text based adventuring. As for those who are taking hours to play through the prologue or first act I can only assume it takes you half an hour to tie a shoe lace, but that's your problem not mine.

I finished this game in about 25-30 hours doing most of the sidequests and without rushing but 10 hours seems very rushed. Was it your first playthrough , did you even read the dialogues or just skip everything ?
