Okay, i'm going to sound harsh and a bit rude at times maybe, but i'm frustrated and fed up with things just not working (outside of witcher also) i bought this game 3 days ago and the disc won't read, problem with my dvd rom? no ruled that out after 4 hours of testing. firmware flashed it, deleted filters and tested data CD's, movie DVD's, BOOT CD's, BOOT DVD,s, music CDS, music DVDS, data DVD's and of course other game DVD's and they all READ. Okay so i got that out the way before i get the "buy a new DVD ROM" comment. (should add dvd disc looks in mint condition, no scratches, as it should it was bought brand new from EB games) i was traveling at the time and im not going to drive 100miles with a receipt just to get another witcher disc that has been DRM'd to hell and back to the point my dvd rom can't read it.

So i have the retail enhanced edition, CD key on the inside cover, and a little book with a free back up download copy with NO unique code, its just blank white space. That's handy. Two thumbs up there. I've contemplated buying the game off steam and just downloading it but i don't want to waste more money on a game i already freaking own. So, is there an admin i can type the CD key to or something and they can arrange a digital download copy or supposedly "Free back up copy"? or do i have to throw this piece of crap in the garbage and forget about the game? How ironic you get free back up copy with no unique code supplied when the original wont even work ( i don't have the proper cables for my phone to transfer pictures across to the pc or i would use picture proof) i'm not even sure my phone can do it actually. We can get on cam ? and i can flash the disk around with the CD key for an hour, maybe do a little dance?

just for the love of god help me, im sick of trying to find a way to download it and use the retail cd key i have. (tried to register it through steam but they don't support it) Why isn't this method possible? they should make this possible for people that have trouble with the discs to be able to download the content and use your CD key. Without having to buy the game AGAIN.

Just checking for clarification purposes but may I ask where you are getting the product key from for The Witcher back up procedure? You aren't by chance entering the UPC code or anything like that, right?
