TCMU2009: I'm playing on 1024x768 or whatever goes with 1024. All graphical options are on medium or high i think except for texture quality. THe demo won't let me change it past low, and I probably won't want to. I also have anisotropic filtering on x8, but I don't really know what that means. Anti aliasing is disabled.
Well Intel HD Graphics... ;)
If the game runs and you are satisfied with it:
deactivate the antisotropic filtering, it will give you a large performance boost. Also try lowering the quality of shadows.
The cutscenes will slow down sometimes even if the rest of the game runs smoothly...why? I have no clue.

Here's something that can tell you if you can actually run a game:
(Note: you must have Java installed on your PC, if its not available the following link will regard you will a download)

http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/
That's the website that told me completely false information lol. I think I'm gonna get it. The demo's working fine, and it's only five dollars.

TCMU2009: I was thinking of getting this game since its only $5 when it's released on Tuesday, but I'm not sure if I can run it. I checked on systemrequirementslab.com or whatever, and it said I couldn't. But it also said I couldn't run Oblivion, which I currently have running very well with several big mods. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me the truth.
My system specs: Intel Core i3 processor 2.40 ghz.
Intel HD graphics card.
Everything else is more than adequate.
Intel HD lol.

Go to newegg.com, buy cheap graphics card.
If you turn off blur (in Polish this is called "rozmycie tla") it should make cutscenes smoother.

Did it occur to you that he may have a laptop? ;)

EDIT: Although Core i3 2.4Ghz may be too beefy for a laptop.

LOL guys, read the thread :) He's got it running fine. He doesn't need to look up any more system requirements or buy a new graphics card.

Thank you everyone, but it works just fine lol. And I do have a laptop, or I would get a better video card. Thanks again for the help. I would mark this as solved, but I don't know how.
I just wanted to add that I also had the "choppy cutscene" issue when running the Witcher, and I fixed it with the Depth of Field setting (as Simplex suggested). Apparently some people need to turn it off, but actually I needed to turn it ON to fix the cutscenes. They run perfectly with it set on for me. Normally I don't like Depth of Field but the Witcher ONLY uses it in cutscenes so it's not too bad.

Be sure you try changing the Depth of Field setting!

EDIT: Also, for those who are interested in forcing Vsync in the game, it turns out you can do it with an external program. The game has no option for it, and forcing it in my ATI drivers didn't work either. What I needed was a little program called D3DOverrider. This is packaged in a larger program called RivaTuner, but you don't need to run RivaTuner at all. Just run D3DOverrider, it sits in the system tray and forces vsync for you. This was nice because the intro cinematic to the game (which is awesome by the way) was running at ~900 FPS on my 60 Hz display and was tearing a lot. There was also tearing in-game, although it was less noticeable. You can just google for these programs, I think they're on a SourceForge page.

I, too, am experiencing significantly lower FPS during cutscenes. I didn't see an option called "blur." Do you mean "Depth of Field?"
Yes, Depth of field. In Polish version it literally says "Background blur" - sorry for the confusion

I know this is an older topic now but I thought I'd give info of my own experience in getting the game to run smoothly. I have an Acer Aspire 8930G (Blue-Ray) laptop with the 18.4" 1080p HD screen. The processor is a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHZ with 4GB of memory, graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT (2GB) and the OS is Vista. Great machine at time of purchase but starting to get a bit shaky now.

Anyway optimum settings were;

Resolution - 1400 x 1050 (Fullscreen)
Detail - High (Depth Of Field box ticked)

With these settings I get both FMV and and gameplay as smooth as butter. Hope this helps some people.

fjdgshdkeavd: OH BOY MY FRIEND, DO I HAVE AN ANSWER FOR YOU!!!!!!

--> download the demo and try it out.

I hope it works out for you. My computer couldn't run it at all :-/ But you have slightly better integrated graphics than I do, so maybe you stand a chance if everything is on low.
Thanks man! This works
