Every time I launch the game, either through launcher or directly to the .exe, I get the user account control popup asking if I am okay making changes to my computer. It's not a big deal, but it is annoying. Is there any way to prevent this?

I don't have any issues running the game itself at all, to be clear.

This happens because the game requests to be launched in a mode with extra permissions, rather than playing nicely with Windows' permissions restrictions. This is probably to avoid not being able to write to certain folders or something like that. The game is old, so some of the newer permissions restrictions probably broke what used to work fine in less strict versions of Windows, but who knows.

You can try right clicking the witcher executable (.exe file) in the "System" directory where the game is installed, and unticking the box which determines that it should be launched as admin. This should prevent it from launching a UAC prompt, but it might cause other problems. I'd just click yes when it asks, even though it's a little annoying - but if you wanna experiment with not doing so, that'd be how (:
