Can we get an update for The Witcher that adds a simple V-Sync option?
I've recently installed it on Steam because i want to finish the first one again and then the second for the first time before the third installment releases... But soon after i entered the game i noticed there's no V-Sync option and as i feared the game has a lot tearing when playing in 1080p resolution.

Force sync through Catalyst sadly doesn't work as I've read in numerous threads and tbh i don't really like using third party tools to force sync as such things can have their own compatilibilty issues and what not...

So please CDPR, do this! Your fans would be grateful! :)

I used a third-party tool for it, and it worked fine for me without any compatibility problems. The tool is called D3DOverrider and it comes packaged with RivaTuner. More info in the "Fixes To Common Problems" sticky thread. I should note that I used this tool both when I first played the game many years ago and again last summer when I was trying out the fan-made adventures, and it still worked fine. I'm running Windows 7.

Unfortunately I don't know of any way to get Vsync without using a third-party tool, unless forcing it in the drivers happens to work for you. I've heard that sometimes it works, although it didn't for me.

I went into my NVIDIA Control Panel and forced v-sync to the .exe application. Worked for me and every other game I had to force v-sync with.

I, like the OP, have an ATI card, and forcing V-sync through the drivers doesn't work for The Witcher (although it does work for most other games). That's why I needed a third-party program to do it for The Witcher.

I got it from here:

You need to download and install RivaTuner, but you don't actually need to run RivaTuner, just run the D3DOverrider program that comes with it. It's a tiny little program that sits in the system tray and forces Vsync. If you don't need it, just close it and it turns off. Simple and low profile.

Yes, well CDPR takes money and support from nvidia, so it's not exactly surprising that nvidia drivers have a better time dealing with their games. That being said, it's stupid that there isn't a v-sync option in-game.
There is also alot tearing at 1440p, and I have another issue where it seems like animation is lagging behind for split of a second.
I adjusedt frame rate through AMD settings (frame rate target control). This does not solve anything but worth applying to reduce workload for your amd gpu. You need AMD Radeon settings (previously catalyst).
