Hello, Two weeks ago I bought The Witcher 2 Enhanced edition for Xbox 360 and loved every single minute of it. Now I am interested in The Witcher, I played a demo for it from Onlive and my computer played it very well...it said everything was on high. However I here there is this error that can pop up that says you don't have Minimum requirements and then you cant change the textures at all. So before I make my purchase I would like to ask you all if my system specs will be okay.

CPU- Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz
CPU Speed- 2.0 GHz Performance Rated at: 3 GHz
OS- Windows 7 64 bit
Video Card- Intel(R) HD Graphics- Video RAM 1.2GB-3D-Hardware T&L-Pixel Shader version 4.0-Vertex Shader 4.0
Sound Card- Conexant SmartAudio HD
Free Disk Space- 220.1GB
DVD-ROM-HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT32N STS Device

Hope this is enough for the help I need

Thank you!!

Pythro: I played a demo for it from Onlive and my computer played it very well...it said everything was on high.
The difference with Onlive is that it's not your computer that processes the graphics, but the one streaming the game to you. Thus your computer's specs are largely irrelevant.
As for your specs, I think you will have problems, mostly due to the CPU and GPU. Even if you can run it, I doubt you'll be able to have it on high settings. You can always check Can You Run It for a few more guidelines.
Dang, that is where I got those specs from from. It said failed for the Graphics card but everything else was good. I hate that I have an Intel HD graphics card I can never play anything with it. So it would be a waste to buy The Witcher then huh?

You may be able to run it by forcing it to bypass the minimum requirement check. See this post for a bit more info. Whether running it like that is acceptable to you is another matter, but The Witcher does get discounted quite a bit, so I'd suggest you wait for a sale before getting it.
Hmm, Well it is 9.99 would it end up going lower then that? That seems kind of low.
Rather not buy the game without knowing how well it will run (or if at all). With an onboard card you will likely run into severe framerate issues even on low settings, you can check for yourself by downloading and running the demo.

My pc is slightly above the minimum requirements and the game runs at nearly unplayable framerate at times - mostly on wide areas and zones with many NPCs and particle emitters.

Thank you for posting that site for the demo that I can play using my computer specs. I just played it and I had to do the fix for the Minimum requirements error. Got into the game and it played rather well still looks pretty good even though its on low settings. didn't have much FPS issues. So this is how the game will play if I buy it?
Really? That's surprising. Can never be 100% sure on these things, but yes, the game should run pretty much just like the demo, maybe even a little bit better since patches optimized performance.
Yeah I was surprised too..I mean starting out it was a little laggy but I think my computer needed to warm it up. After that it seems okay, there was some FPS issues though im not sure if maybe it was due to the mouse sensitivity, a little weird targeting. Some of the in game cut scenes where a little laggy but nothing game breaking. I did put what visual settings I could on medium. Though when running the screen seems a little weird but again nothing game breaking. Now that was just The Witcher and not the Enhanced version...what is the difference between them?

EDIT: The only thing I am finding annoying is that when I am running around it almost seems as if it is trying to pull me back a little not so much but it just seems like it.

Enhanced Edition has improved loading times, tweaked npc models and a bunch of extra content including the adventure editor. FPS-wise I haven't noticed much difference compared to the demo though.

Have you tried all 3 camera modes?
Yeah, it is hard to explain but I will try I'm not sure if it is due to my graphics card. But when I am running the camera acts as if it were going over bumps but many times and being pulled back a little maybe it is a camera stutter? But I try lowering the resolution and it still does it.
I think what you're referring to is just a feature of the "over the shoulder" camera mode. It does bump a lot and the perspective looks a bit off. This page here explains the difference between them. It shouldn't happen in isometric mode iirc.
It does seem to happen some in the other two camera modes.

No idea what it might be then, sorry.
