So, I've recently picked up my playthrough of this great game, yet am left wondering how up-to-date my installed version is. I downloaded the installation files somewhere around June 2012, that much I know, but I can't tell the version number that's up on GOG atm.

I mean, if I go to the game in my library, the download button says 2.0.0. Is that the current game version then? It would help if there was a date somewhere that specifies when that version was rolled out (is there?); or some sort of version history, of when which version was actual on GOG.
Either way, my current game version reads 1.4.5.1304... Is that the EE version already or am I way out of date? If so, are my current save games going to be compatible with the more recent version?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I only downloaded and installed my copy from gog a few weeks ago, If I go into my game install and right click on the witcher.exe it list my install as being 1.5.0.1304.

So If you are getting the version number the same way it looks like I have a newer version installed.
Hi, I downloaded some time ago The Witcher installer and checked now: I have the 1.4.5.1280 version... Enchanched Edition.
I don't think there are any problem with savegame between the "old" and the "new" versions, but I'd like too to know if there is a way to update my version to 1.5 (if the latest) without re-download the 8.5 GB downloader and reinstall the game.

I would very much like to know the same thing. I feel like they should be a little less obscure with version numbers.
Can't be too much to ask to display the version number of the game somewhere, can it?
Okay, I figured it out. I'm up-to-date, according to http://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher/game_patches.
I checked the properties of the exe and it does say it's 1.5.0.1304 (even though I get another version within the game itself). Confusing. :)

Ok, I think you're right, re-checked and my version 1.4 was about the launcher.exe, not witcher.exe!
So, seems that the version showed with the download button is related to the installer version, NOT the game.
Since the last patch 1.5.1304 for The Witcher was released in 2009, I think that almost everyone on gog has the updated version!
