Can someone please post the md5 checksums for The Witcher? I have just downloaded the files (5 .bin and 1 .exe), have not installed them yet (I am in the office now), have got the integrity check passed, but have found a difference in the md5 checksums.

Thanks in advance.
Nobody can help? Anyone?
Sorry, i didn't understand... What is MD5? Maybe if you awnser that, i can help you...

MD5 checksum can be used, among other things, to check whether a file is corrupted or not. More info on MD5 can be found in this Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD5

There is this tiny freeware here: http://www.whitsoftdev.com/md5/
It works on Windows XP (I assume it works with Vista and 7 although I cannot confirm it), integrates with the Windows Explorer (you need to add it through the "Context Menu Association" option on the system menu, see the link above for more info). After it integrates with Windows Explorer, you just need to right-click on the file, select "MD5 Hash" and the program will calculate the md5 checksum for you.

So, if you can please help me post the md5 checksum for the 5 .bin and 1 .exe file that make up The Witcher 1 installer files, so that I can compare the numbers to mine. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I did not make myself clear. I mean, I need the md5 checksums for each individual .bin files. So I still need the md5 checksums for:
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-1.bin
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-2.bin
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-3.bin
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-4.bin

The md5 checksum for the setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition.exe and for the setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-4.bin match. Thanks!
1.bin = f992a98576b3d561c8070a38c214ea91
2.bin = b0f2ad8ea420bfad9a4719e599f4f0bb
3.bin = f62a19ed67c59286c4d3c96995676d13
4.bin = e8d48571b065f9e798cff1aef56d3ae6

So basically you are checking with those codes if the download of the game was ok or was corrupted? That is new to me...

When you download a game with GOG official downloader, usually inside the Documents and Settings folder (or what have you on Vista or 7) there will be a folder for [your username]/Local Settings/Application Data/GOGDownloader/[your game].

Inside that folder, there might be file(s) such as for example:
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition.exe.crc
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-1.bin.crc
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-2.bin.crc
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-3.bin.crc
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-4.bin.crc
setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-5.bin.crc

Inside these files (they are just text files) are the md5 checksum (that GOG refuses to publish publicly).

Alright, all those numbers match mine. So, I am puzzled with why the setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-3.bin.crc gives out a different md5 number than f62a19ed67c59286c4d3c96995676d13.
Inside setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition-3.bin.crc it is d624d672b615c5ae768f5e681689e2c2.

Anyway, since our md5 checksums match, and the internal integrity checking passes, I will assume my download is fine.

Once again thanks, you've been very helpful. +1 for your rep.

It was nothing. If you need anything else, just say.

It's not a very good check (MD5 was deprecated for any serious security use many years ago, because it has poor collision properties: it's too likely that a corrupt file will have the same MD5 checksum as the correct file), but its use for that purpose is entrenched.
