So currently I'm doing my first playthrough of The Witcher and I'm at Chapter 4. Now I'm going to go face Dagon and stuff so I wanted a new Silver Sword though the only problem is even though I have 3 premanent runes I can't make the sword out of lack of inventory space. Now I've tried dropping weapons and clearing my whole inventory but nothing works, any help is awesome :D

If I understand you correctly, you don't have room, right? Then just drop your silver sword - there is only one 'slot' for silver one, and it' can't be sold.

The only problem with that is that I've tried to drop the silver sword but then I can't make the Runes sword. I'm in quite the predicament.

Alright so I guess that it was something in the game that wasn't working right because I shut my computer off for a little bit and turned it back on and then I could buy the sword... so it's resolved now I guess.

That's good then. Maybe it was some kind of bug... Hmm... I'm not sure now, but perhaps the sword is replaced at the purchase and the game had problem with that (and that's why droping it before was a bad idea). Oh well, the important thing is that you have it. :)

it was probably not a bug I think it was something with my hard drive since it's been disconnecting for no reason and I probably need to replace it. But I've been able to finish The Witcher and on to the second one, can't wait for 3 :D

I actually just had this problem. I'm playing through the first two mostly to get to 3, so I'm taking several shortcuts, including a mod that allows inventory items to stack much higher. (This mod, to be exact.) I did find a fix, though:

1) Drop the steel sword into storage
2) Place the Silver sword into the Steel sword slot
3) Buy the rune sword of choice
4) Discard the Silver sword that was in the Steel slot, and enjoy the Rune sword.

Hope that helps (if anyone else still has that problem).
