Hello guys, I'm running snow leopard and I have this bug where the game occasionally crashes while loading. It has happened outside loading too, but that is very rare. I have managed to avoid the problem so far by loading an earlier save, and then load my latest save from in the game.

Anyway, I am now in chapter 4 and that does not work anymore. No matter what save I try to load the game crashes. So any way to fix this?

If there are no way to fix this, is it possible to get the save, and continue on a windows install? The mac port uses vineskin, so there are windows files under the vine layer, right?

How many savegames you got? Look at this thread, even if it concerns The Witcher 2.

Regarding your last question, the answer is yes, savegames are interchangeable between Windows and MacOS. You can find your savegames in the folder "~/Library/com.cdprojektred.TheWitcher/The Witcher/Saves/", where ~ stands for your home as usually.
Thanks a lot! I installed the game on windows, and it works again.

Had you got many savegames in your MacOS folder? In that case, have you tried deleting some of them, as stated in the first link I sent you?
Maybe you could arrange to fix the MacOs version without using the Windows one.
Yeah, I tried deleting most of my saves, but it didn't help. The mac version was pretty bad anyway. It was lagging a bit, even though I have a high end 2011 macbook, which should be enough. :)
