I downloaded through the gog.com downloader with no issues, but the installation program hangs during the file integrity check. If I skip the check I get the following error a few minutes into the installation:

An error occured while trying to copy a file:
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Directors Cut\Data\sounds00.bif

Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Does anyone know which .bin file needs to be re-downloaded? The whole download takes about 8hrs, so I'd rather avoid doing the whole thing over if I can.

Your files match the size of my files perfectly. I would redownload just the .exe file and try to install the game again before looking into the .bin files. Make sure you run the installer as Admin.

No change. Is there anyway to open the .bin files to see which one has sounds00.bif?

I'm not sure.

Maybe renaming them from .bin to .iso and then use something that mounts ISO's to explore the contents would do it. Can't say it will work though, i don't think i've ever tried messing around with .bin files that way.

Edit: Make sure it isn't UAC, DEP, your anti virus or anything like that getting in the way of the install process.

You can find out which of the .bin files is corrupt by placing 2-5 in separate folders, the installer then asks for the location of the next .bin file every time it needs the next one, allowing you to pinpoint which one is failing. It was failing on the first file, I re-downloaded it and installed without issues.

That's a pretty clever workaround, surely beats redownloading each file in turn to see which one is buggered.

Good to know you got it working.
hi guys i just wondered that can i download a specific .bin file without downloading them all?

Yes, you can download just one .bin file. You have to download it using your browser

You're welcome ;)
hello, I bought this game late last year and was unable to install it due to the fact that I was in between computers at the time. I now have a new machine and tried to set it up. everything went alright until I went to launch the game and I got an system error message saying that d3dx9_35.dll is missing and that I need to re-install the program. I tried several times or re-installing the game and re-downloading and also re-downloading GOG Downloader with no success. any advice on what I can do?

Find and install DirectX 9.0c or look online for the missing dll file. The game (and quite a few more) require DX9 which isn't fully included on Windows7

Try grabbing the redistributable from . This is the complete installer, not the web based one. If this fails, read [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher/d3dx9_35_dll_is_missing]this thread.
Hope you get it working.
