I run an i5 4670k CPU, a GeForce GTX 760, and 16GB DDR3-1600 RAM, and it's pretty much exactly as I describe in the the topic title. I've read the other posts relating to hair twitching, but those relate to multiple GPUs and crossfire/SLI, which I don't have. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem with a single GPU and been able to fix it.

Edit: I've tried playing with my AA settings and VSync, and no changes so far.

Unfortunately the multiple-GPU fix is the only fix I know of. Some graphics cards have multiple GPUs in a single card... I don't think that's the case for the GTX 760 but it might be worth checking if it is. If it does have two GPUs, you can disable one to fix the problem, and it will still be plenty fast enough to run the game.

As far as I know, the i5 4670k has an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 processor, so you might have two graphics cards in your system. If so, disable one of them, like Waltorious said.

Also disable any overclocking (CPU or GPU), as this is known for several glitches in the Witcher games.

I get that hair twitching with a single GTX 780 (1 GPU) & a i7-4820K (no on chip GPU)
so I would be interested if anyone found a fix for it as well.

How do I disable the integrated one on my CPU, then? I don't have any OC on this system, it's a really new build.

Edit: I apparently have to go into the BIOS to do it. I figured that it would be disabled automatically when I plugged in a dedicated GPU.

This thread's title made me picture Geralt in a L'Oréal TV commercial.

Did this fix the problem? If so I will add it to the sticky thread.

I can't find the option for it in my BIOS. I'm not power user enough to guess what each option does.
Speccy is an easy to use free System Information tool.
It'll help to see the specific specs of your system, e.g. what BIOS and graphics chip you've installed.

If you can tell which BIOS you have, we can probably figure out the right settings.
Also check if Speccy recognizes two graphic chips.

Thanks for this. Speccy tells me that I only have the one GPU, my GeForce GTX 760. The BIOS for my ASUS Z87-A motherboard is UEFI. I'm not sure of the version number.
I have a GeForce GTX 770, and experienced the same problem, with hair twitching like crazy.

I fixed it by going into Nvidia Control Panel (Control Panel -> Hardware) and changing some stuff in Manage 3D Settings. The things I adjusted:

1) Set anisotropic filtering and antialising to application controlled
2) Multi-display acceleration- single display performance
3) Power management- prefer maximum performance
4) Vsync (this probably fixed it but I'm too lazy to check, sorry)- Adaptive or On

Hope this helps.
I posted about the same issue here: http://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher/bouncing_hair

Can't really say I found a great solution to it, and it seems to get worse when playing for many hours. But I *think* enabling vsync made it a bit better. I had to do that via nvidia control panel.

Enabling vsync from the graphic card control panel does not always work, at least for ATI cards, but there's an alternative way to enable it listed in the "Fixes To Common Problems" sticky thread. It's a small program called D3DOverrider that forces vsync. I used it when I played.
I reinstalled the game a few days ago and encountered this issue, mostly with Abigail and occasionally with Geralt. After reading the thread I activated MSI Afterburner, which I use with Skyrim. With my normal settings (FPS locked at 58) the problem *appears* to be solved.

There is some horizontal tearing at the bottom of the screen so I'll play around with different FPS settings.

On a possibly unrelated note I also had an issue in the dice game that any dice selected for re-rolling would take several seconds to highlight.I don't remember it being like that previously. With the frames limited selected dice now highlight almost immediately.

I made these changes to my settings, and it seems to have worked (fingers crossed). Vsync was the one that made the difference. The first 3 didn't make any difference. Changed it to On (Smooth) in the settings, and beards stopped defying gravity and geralt's hair doesn't fly around any more. Thanks for the suggestion.
