In Chapter one you meet the witch Abigail. I was wondering was her name chosen as a reference to the Salem witch trials? (Yes I know the game is from Europe,And Salem took place in the USA)

My other question is what the heck is with the monkey thing in the outskirts? Is that a inside joke from the gaming staff?

Yeah, Abigail is probably a reference to Abigail Williams. Possibly The Crucible, not the historical Salem witch trials, since some events of the play (the voodoo doll, Abigail's attempt to seduce Proctor, who later denounces her) parallel the Act I action.

The monkey is, apparently, just a monkey.
I couldn't remember what the book was called have not read it sense grade 6.
It's actually a little creature called a Mamune. They're part of the ambient wildlife, and there will be more of them if you increase the "small animals" amount in the menu. You'll also see more of them in Chapter 4.

It appears that Abigail is still called Abigail even in the original, Polish version of The Witcher, therefore it certainly sounds like she is referencing something...
I thought that they were spying on me. Many times they followed like hell, those bastards.
I wanted to skin one for alchemy supplies but it would not let me :(
