Yesterday I tried to play TWD3 and after the intro which ran flawlessly I experienced extreme stuttering every few seconds, rendering the game unplayable for me. So I searched through the net and found several possible fixes which involved setting my 144Hz freesync monitor to fixed 60Hz and limit the frame rate to 60FPS as well. Unfortunately this solution did not work for me. So I tried every setting and restarted the game to see how it ran. Finally I figured it out. At least for me my problem was, that I had limited the FPS to 60 already in the main setting (since I don't like my GPU getting too hot and 60 is enough for me). After disabling the frame rate limiter the game ran perfectly smooth on my W10/GTX1060. So if you should stumble over the same problem be sure to try to disable any kind of frame rate limiting.
