Hi,

I am a big fan of the new Telltale Games adventures. I own all of them on Steam, because no GOG versions existed back then. With the games being released at the same time nowadays I would love to switch to GOG with the new Seasons. Are my old decisions and Steam save games compatible with the GOG versions of these games?

I would like to know, too. In fact, I posted a thread on the Steam forums yesterday addressing the topic, but I've yet to hear anything about it from the developers.

To my knowledge, there aren't currently any plans to implement Season 2 save data import for the upcoming "Michonne" release. However, according to the Telltale forums the decisions made in "Michonne" might come into play in Season 3.

Moreover, like the OP I had bought Season 2 on Steam, but now intend to switch to DRM-free, so I hope that saves will be compatible.

bumpity bump anyone know if it's possible for the gog version to find your steam save games or will you have to play the previous episodes over in their gog-format?

From the post: "Apparently the GOG version saves the files in a folder that is slightly differently named than what New Frontier expects. Renaming My Documents/Telltale Games/The Walking Dead Season 2 to My Documents/Telltale Games/The Walking Dead Season Two fixed the issue for me. "

Any tested to confirm this works? Well I want to see if the season 2 will see season 1 to update the story.

Ok, I`m running my season 1 Steam version and will let you know if Season 2 Gog version works after.

To be honest i`d have waited till both were out on GOG had I know Steam games would eventually be released on GOG!

I've not tried with Season 2 GOG to Season 3 GOG, but can confirm importing Season 2 Steam saves into Season 3 GOG version works fine.

I didn't have to rename any files, everything worked with the default save locations. (\Documents\Telltale Games\the walking dead season two).

Confirmed it. GOG Season 2 version will find saves of Steam Season 1 version. :)
