Random freezes. Was able to play for about 30-45 minutes before freezes would occur, Id had to ctrl+alt+delete and sign out from my windows profile to escape the game, that or completely shut off the pc which im not too keen on. Alt+tab didnt work either.

I look in other threads and saw people talking about dsound files. I explored, found them and deleted them like it seemed others would suggest. Didnt work, the game immediately crashed at midway logo and ctd'd. I then searched for the unoffical patch and installed it per its instructions in the readme file. Stil crashed at midway logo. I tried verifying the files, which took forever btw, didnt work. I tried clean install- completely removing every trace of the game from my C: drive. I begun a new game and the game started, was able to begin the game, it then froze before I was even out of the initial cell block I was in.

pls halp.

Bump.

Edit:
I finally got it. I just played completely uninterupted for the very first time. I installed the AiO patch or what the hell ever its called, Got rid of the dsound files, An than I decided I wanted to try something, I thought maybe I should try launching the game directly from the folder, Ive done this in the past with older games and still do to this day.

Right before I actually did that I made a shortcup copy of "Launch The Suffering" and dragged it to desktop, renamed it "The Suffering" and launched it from there. Before the patch I could play maybe 15-30 minute before fatal freeze error. After the Patch I tried launching the game directly from the Galaxy Launcher an It would boot up, and 2 seconds later- freeze and CTD.

In short, try patch (can find link in another thread or goggle it), remove the "dsound" files from the games folder, launch the game from the folder using "Launch The Suffering" application and it should work perfectly. I reccomend just right clicking the app and making a shortcut and dragging/renaming it to desktop and play the game from there on.

I hope this helps some folks here looking for help.
