Act 3 won’t load, game freezes when Tim sit in the chair and screen fades to white. I’m on the latest version available on gog

Any solutions

I’ve asked prior for help on this but no one has offered a solution and it seems a common problem
Seems like they devs just dont care... I made a similar thread and no one has a solution

Hello!

I'm so sorry :( I didn't know about the GOG Forums, I was so caught up in the release and the immediate tech support on the Steam forums I got tunnel visioned.

We do care about people being able to play the game! I had someone email me about this, but the bug wasn't so obvious. It looks like this issue only happened when playing the game without GOG Galaxy, and was due to a misuse in the GOG Galaxy SDK on my behalf.

I have a fix prepared, but I'm looking for anyone who has the problem to confirm. I can send a build of the game directly that should help out.

If you *were* playing the game with GOG Galaxy, that would throw a wrench in my master plans, but I'd still like to get the new build in your hands (and in that case I can do it with a special branch on Galaxy).

Please email me at matt@hermitstudios.ch (or PM me here, I don't know if these forums support private messages or not), and I'll send you the link. As soon as I get one confirmation its fixed, we'll push it live for everyone.

Again, I'm sorry about this. Ignorance is no valid excuse, and I can understand the frustration in spending money on something that didn't work.

I'm here now and I'll make sure to keep an eye on this forum moving forward. It's our first game ever and we made a lot of mistakes on the way, but we learn from them.

I'll be glad to help, how can we proceed? I have a reproducible issue on 2 computers. We don't use GOG Galaxy, we play it "pure". I also started the thread.

I got your email, send you the build that hopefully fixes the issue... keeping my fingers crossed :)
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that Jay has confirmed the fix works for him and we will be pushing 1.0.4 live shortly for everyone. I will check in with GOG to make sure that the offline installer is updated.

Cheers,
Matt

I don't think you should feel like a jerk, or that you jumped to conclusions at all. Fact was, you were not getting any responses, and that's on us, not you :)

Good news as well! The installer has been updated to 1.0.4 (so you can download the offline version), but even better, GOG made a hotfix patch that upgrades 1.0.3 to 1.0.4, which is only 3MB instead of 4GB, so I'm really hoping this has taken care of the issue for you!

Thanks for the effective reaction and solution, as well as for posting separately about the update.

Speaking of you posting here - you should contact GOG to get your Developer's badge and distinct forum font colour, it'll make your posts stick out, and make people aware of the fact that the devs are present here.
