I found several sites about how screwed up this mission is but nothing other than "skip it" for a solution. Anyone ever tried it, actually completed it?
What's supposed to be"screwed"about the mission?
Settlers IV tends to have a couple of problems that can be easily be solved. XD

But knowing the reason is always helpful!

Sorry. :P
Evidently it doesn't end. You have to build a specific number of carts and set up a new home on the other side of the map but every mention of it I've seen says there is a bug and you never get the "You Win".

Apart from that I need help on other CD missions and the German page I was using with the great walkthroughs all of a sudden stopped letting me in. BASTARDS!
To be honest, many Settlers IV sites have been dying these last few years... I've been thinking about making"security copies"of any interesting or important Settlers IV site, and offer them as a download or somehow hosting them, as some sort of"vault"... But I haven't been successful on finding a way to do it, yet.

Just so I know, what site where youg etting your guides from?
(Oh, and if it was german anyway, I would recommend trying Brainsworld. It's still one of the most well known german S IV sites, and offers some unique information on the game)

Funny you post now. Just this morning I found a site called Gameswelt which I had been using off an on but wasn't aware they had help for the Mission CD levels. To be honest I think the guy writing for that page might be on something because no matter how hard it is he likes to throw in "it's easy". :P I'll be reading and all of a sudden, "Now here is the easy part; you have 2 minutes to build a 200 man army from nothing and take over the whole map." Of course something is better than nothing and I've noticed a lot of the Mission CD seems rough at best, almost untested.

Hi, tinyE did you find a solution to this mission? Or find a way to move on to mission 3?

It was almost a year ago, I think I just ended up skipping it. Honestly S4 got to a point where it just wasn't worth playing anymore for me. 1-3 always gave you multiple ways to win and never rushed you but it seemed like 4 was just one siege level after another. If you like that sort of thing the game is great, but I like slow build up and conquer.
the solution is: to break off (when you have built up your second colony) your old colony, everything , buidling , send pioneers, geoligst to the norht all your men.
Sorry my previouis message was no solution.

Mission 2 does have a bug, u have to escape and make a new
settlement in the north, nothimg more, but sometimes the win
message will not appear. Very annoying.
If u want to play the next mission, then u can try the
following cheat:
open the chat-session in the game: that is under in the screen,
press on ENTER u can see the cursor now
type "!incubation2" then ENTER again
type "!win" and ENTER again

does this work?....have you had the YOU WIN notice ?
To all those who have stucked on this mission for ages afer completion -like me-
I completed the map, defeated the Dark Tribe etc.
Although i think my mistake was NOT to follow the instructions (abandon my 1st settlement and construct foundation carts) and created my army.

SOLUTION:
If you have completed the map and want to move on....

1) Press ENTER
2) Type: !incubation2
3) Type: !win

it automatically wins the level and lets you move on to mission 3
UBISOFT you suck, at least have some testers run the levels before you release them!!!

PS This level seems to be buggy,,,it shows for example 300 DT soldiers and when i first attacked them they magically became 800...!!

Hope this helps!
Is this the level?

Guy seems to have won it without skipping/cheating.

I wish I could understand German....how can he see the Mayans attacking when the upper map is blacked out till explored and taken....can we reveal unvisited areas?
Wel I had the same problem and seeing the video on youtube did solve the problem. When you know it it's very simple. I even laught about it. You have to build a watchtower next to the pool in your new settlement and voila, there will be your you win sign.

After all those years.......
