I play this awesome game after 10 years again.

I play world campaing, AFRICA is huge.
Is there a way to safely "return" soldiers once I do not need military building ?

I have vast teritory, borders wide, soldiers spread all over.
Problem is when I destroy the building, in 75% the soldier dies wandering off instead of going to HQ or STOREHOUSE.

Any idea ?
Is this possible, to evacuate them before destroing the building ?

That bugs the piss out of me too but something just occurred to me; building a storehouse next to the soon to be destroyed military building might help.

I LOVE this game but little things like this do tend to spring up from time to time to remind me that as good as it is, it's not perfect. I still have trouble keeping the buildings I want fully loaded kept fully loaded. I'm convinced those three "occupancy bars" don't actually do anything and are just there to mess with my head. :P
Not that this post is going to help anyone in the thread already. Both of these players have probably moved on, but anyway.
ALL units, workers, general untrained staff for carrying stuff, and soldiers, as well as donkeys, wont find the way to the storage building, if it's to far away. This is not a bug, this is per design. The solution is, of course, not to have "people" wander of to far away from a storage, of some kind. Harbor, HQ, and storehouse all counts.
