Hello, I bought Settlers 3 Ultimate Edition so my wife and I can play together, we are on the same network and both of our computers are Windows 10. My computer has no problem creating or joining LAN multiplayer games, but her computer displays the following whena multiplayer menu option is selected "Multi-player games require DirectPlay 6.0 or higher. DirectPlay 6.0 is a part of DirectX6 or a later Version of Win95/98 and is also included in Service Pack 4 for WinNT."

I hope there is a fix for this, i don't understand why my desktop will play it but the laptop won't. Im assuming it's a software issue, but after some reading and downloading my DirectX seems to be installed and up to date.

I found the super easy fix on while trying to get Total Annihilation to run on the Total Annihilation support page.

1. Windows + R to open command prompt
2. Type "appwiz.cpl" in command prompt (w/out the quotation marks)
3.On the left tab select "Turn Windows features on or off"
4. Locate and expand the "Legacy Components" folder and check the box for "DirectPlay"
5. Press OK and relaunch Settlers 3, enjoy.

This also fixed some issues with other older games not launching on my pc with error on launch: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022).
