Ok so last night I made a map with the Map Editor that came with the Settlers 3 pack I got from the site, finished it and exported it and it worked fine, except for the fact that the back up I saved so I could go back and edit it if needed disappeared. Made another one today and exported it and it said it had been exported but when I went into the game it was no where, I looked in ALL of the map folders and its not there, funny thing is the EDM file that the editor uses are missing as well but if I open the editor and chose open from the file drop down the EDM files are there and if I save the EDM files to my desktop they show up there but not in the Settlers directory. So as you can see this is a bit of a problem, worked find last night but not today, there have been no updates to my system and I have changed NO settings. If someone can help me figure this out that would be great, after all, I spent all that time making that second map and I would like to be able to use it.

Are you using Windows 7?

If I'm not mistaken, save games and such are not saved in the Program Files folder, but in the User Appdata folder (which could be hidden). That could be the problem here.
