I was wondering if there is a skirmish mode in Settlers 4. I tried a LAN game with AI but i couldn't save the game. I am missing something ?

just save it like a normal game (offline)
and start it again within the menu (go for loading saved game) the multiplayer game should have the name of the map if it is a random map

this works for me (settler gold with all expansions)

Does i missed something ? It won't lets me save the button is greyed out.

okay, i know your problem now. i tried it myself. started a lan game with only bots (but the problem is you cannot save it than i think) because if i play with my bro over lan i can save and we can start from the saved langame (tried it out 5 min ago)

so i think you cannot save langames with AI only.. so you need 2 human players... :/
(i am maybe wrong but i just tested to give you a feedback)
